So… you have nothing.

As expected.

Why do I keep wanting to misuse the "support" reaction sarcastically?

The answer to all questions relating to the trans is: transwomen are men and always will be men, will never be women.

Which is why we need to stop validating them by using our word woman to describe them. They are TIM. Trans Identifying Men.

MagpiePi · 27/08/2026 18:05

The quote by Upton Sinclair “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on him not understanding it” seems apt in a topsy turvy kind of way.

I don't care that he disagrees with JKR

I care that he didn't call out the trans-community for going after her.

Edited

So many of these people (actors, producers, directors etc) who claim loudly to despise JKR's feminist activism are so very happy to make lots of money from her hard work. I'd have more respect for them if they stood by their proclamations and turned down the work they were offered.

Females aren’t actually human to you are we? You don’t think fairness and safety in sport for females is a legitimate aim.

Of course it is. I just don't think it applies in all sporting circumstances like for example a female soccer team for six year olds. The details kinda matter because a disadvantage needs to be proven hence the proportionality requirement.

None so blind that cannot see

The point is perpetuating harmful stereotypes. You know, what you people say you are supposed to be against.

You certainly do seem to be doing that all by yourself!

The answer to all questions relating to the trans is: transwomen are men and always will be men, will never be women.

And they will never have the internal organs needed to become pregnant! NO human being has ever changed sex. It’s IMPOSSIBLE!!

DialSquare · 27/08/2026 14:15

Why was one of my posts deleted? I can’t think of any reason for it.

BunnyBunbunbun · 27/08/2026 13:17

Northernlightsss · 27/08/2026 06:52

Care to dispute why its wrong? Can't can you? Is that why you are dismissing it?

It should be easy, of course.

But trans ideology made it utterly impossible.

I think that's where the shift is. The opinion of TRA's is no longer paramount.

Yes, exactly. The idea that it's unremarkable for people with the public views JKR and Grint have voiced to be (broadly) part of the same project isn't a universally agreed one. And opponents of it would've probably had more currency a few years back.

6ate9 · 27/08/2026 12:21

@SidewaysOtter “Funny how that's managed to help him overcome his views about JKR...”

Humans are fickle beings!

Yes, it's clearly Northernlightsssss' turn on the rota Hmm

To come back to the original subject, I find it highly amusing that Grint is returning to the HP fold. Presumably he, Watson and Ratcliffe are about to find themselves somewhat obsolete, what with the 'new' Ron, Hermione and Harry about to be centre stage. Funny how that's managed to help him overcome his views about JKR...

Just because he doesn't agree with jk views doesn't mean he can't think the writing was excellent and it's a good part ?
It's easy to separate the two.

Interesting that he's taken the role.

I don't imagine it's for the money, although he'll get paid quite a lot I bet. He's worth £35, or £40 million.

I think he likes the stage, there's a certain symmetry to going back, and the cred will be enormous.

And also, there's a definite shift.

There's nothing of the wrong side of history about his decision. And it makes Emma and Daniel look isolated. Outside public opinion, not inside it, as they thought they were.

Good luck to him. He didn't stick it to J. K. Rowling like the other two.

A vibe shift, as they say? Maybe part of "Woke 1 was craaazy."

Have we been offered a list of the typical behaviours that differentiate men and women yet?

I was planning on planting out some chard and watching a Japanese horror film after work today; would be useful to know if either make me a man.

I'm about to blow up a car tyre. I'm wearing trousers. You've made me concerned. Could I have turned into a man overnight?

Northernlightsss · 27/08/2026 01:21

I don't think agreeing to still be associated with an idea is in any way a concession to the creator's moral or political stance or helps perpetuate it. John Lithgow made this point recently that the work still maintains its value regardless & that's why he agreed to still be part of HP.

Just like the US constitution still maintains its moral relevance despite being written by slave owners, JKR's immoral position shouldn't matter particularly because the ideas in HP are contra to it that effectively inculcate generations of people against JKR's personal bigotry which only has a finite existence.

Edited

OMG. Have you found it @Northernlightsss ? You know, the secret place where JKR has expressed her “personal bigotry” against trans people? Because people have been searching for it for years!!! At one time there was a reward offered for the first person to find it, so it could be you @Northernlightsss , you could be THE ONE.

Go on, put us all out of our misery, give us the link, and IF you are right then let us all join in pointing the finger at the woman who has stood up for female rights, supported abused women and children, made it clear that she believes the biological truth that women are women and men are men, and has moreover put her money where her mouth is, which is a lot more than the shouty people have done, who instead have focussed their energy on threatening and abusing JKR, her family and others by hiding on the internet and wearing masks in public . Of course, if you are simply another sheep following the rainbow flock then you are clearly someone not very well acquainted with truthfulness, honesty, personal integrity and the libel laws.

Waiting for the revelation. Might be here for a while. Anyone got popcorn?

Claim: "In fact the research shows homosexual males violently offend at a lower rate than lesbians."

Citation needed.

The study usually posted in support of this statement shows no such thing. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Yes, debunked on here last time it was wheeled out🙄

As we're still waiting for a certain poster to understand the difference between stereotypes and 'the use of data to mitigate risk and protect fairness', I suspect you may have to plant and watch, and just take your chance that you don't spontaneously change sex.

I played with action man when I was a girl. Did I grow up to be a man?

Um, you forgot the proportionality bit…

27
(1)
A person does not contravene section 29, so far as relating to sex discrimination, by providing a service only to persons of one sex if—
(a)
any of the conditions in sub-paragraphs (2) to (7) is satisfied, and
(b)
the limited provision is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim.
(2)
The condition is that only persons of that sex have need of the service.
(3)
The condition is that—
(a)
the service is also provided jointly for persons of both sexes, and
(b)
the service would be insufficiently effective were it only to be provided jointly.
(4)
The condition is that—
(a)
a joint service for persons of both sexes would be less effective, and
(b)
the extent to which the service is required by persons of each sex makes it not reasonably practicable to provide separate services.
(5)
The condition is that the service is provided at a place which is, or is part of—
(a)
a hospital, or
(b)
another establishment for persons requiring special care, supervision or attention.
(6)
The condition is that—
(a)
the service is provided for, or is likely to be used by, two or more persons at the same time, and
(b)
the circumstances are such that a person of one sex might reasonably object to the presence of a person of the opposite sex.
(7)
The condition is that—
(a)
there is likely to be physical contact between a person (A) to whom the service is provided and another person (B), and
(b)
B might reasonably object if A were not of the same sex as B.
(8)
This paragraph applies to a person exercising a public function in relation to the provision of a service as it applies to the person providing the service.

Absolutely there is a shown proportionate aim when providing services, facilities and sports for just women and girls based on sex. This is why sports, changing rooms and even toilets can be and are setup as single sex when there is reason to be. I was under the impression you were arguing that this should never be allowed though as JK is seen as a bigot for providing a single sex service for women. Glad you agree this isn't the case.
