Councils aren’t going for the ‘guidance’ and it is routinely ignored by trans people. When do you expect something to change?

It seems like you understand why it’s a problem them.

And I didn’t say your privacy and dignity don’t count. I just don’t think you should expect to always get what you want.

So why do I have to have a separate toilet and they don’t?

well the law says I’m entitled to single sex spaces and it’s spectacularly vicious to tell a rape victim she can’t have single sex provision where allowed by law, wouldn’t you agree?

No, I am not. But there are some who do

Again, why would they be unsafe in the men’s?

Are you under the illusion that all transwomen pass ?

No, I am not. But there are some who do

Well it “advertises” that I’m disabled in the exact same way that a trans woman using the men’s would be “advertising” their trans status.

I asked some more questions. Around why my dignity and privacy and safety doesn’t count. Any chance you could answer them too? Thanks so much I appreciate it.

There will always be weirdos that use the wrong toilet. But now that the law has been made so clear, we're back to being able to spot the wronguns

Taztoy · 25/08/2026 19:02

FlakyRobin · 25/08/2026 19:01

Why do you see using the disabled toilets as degrading?

What about me? I have to degrade myself in the exact same way every time I use the disabled toilets. Why don’t I count?

Why is that undignified?

Happy to agree with you that, within the bounds of propriety, people should be free to dress as they wish.

However, a service cannot be simultaneously single sex and mixed sex.

Taztoy · 25/08/2026 18:58

They’ve decided to dress as the opposite sex. I think their dignity is long gone don’t you?
They’re men. The whole reason we have single sex spaces is to keep women safe from men.

Why is that undignified?

I don’t know any trans women who are so self -hating that they would degrade themselves like that

You really, really need to get to grips with the fact that the councils you are talking about are not providing services for women + trans women. They are just making everything mixed sex.

Then they can use the universal toilets.

You are going to need to post some evidence for both of these claims.
A few councils? Yes, they are on our radar.
A few trans-identified men? Yes, the ones who are the most misogynistic.

Where is the evidence that it is any more than a few of each?

iwishitwouldstartraining · 25/08/2026 18:55

FlakyRobin · 25/08/2026 18:47

Dignity, privacy and safety?

If services are not single sex they are mixed sex, so they would be using the same toilets as other men anyway.

FlakyRobin · 25/08/2026 18:54

Ballybeat · 25/08/2026 18:50

I don’t know any trans woman who’s such a vile piece of shit that they want to use women’s spaces anyway. Most of the kind trans women I know just want to go around living in peace, and let women do the same which is why they use the gents.

Its bizarre, isn't it?

And that those cheering these public bodies on to break the law (the guidance is neither here nor there, the law is the law) think they are the good guys on TRSOH.

Still, logic and reason aren't really their strong suit.

Also makes you wonder what other laws those public bodies will break because they're not keen on them.

Hardly inspires confidence in their integrity or honesty.

Dignity, privacy and safety?

Absolutely agree that women need single sex spaces to ensure their dignity, privacy and safety. Well done Robin, your brain is starting to absorb the right words - now you just need to join them to (the Supreme Court's definition of) women.

iwishitwouldstartraining · 25/08/2026 18:52

FlakyRobin · 25/08/2026 18:36

No trans person using the spaces for their gender is breaking the law. The EA and guidance is purely for service providers.

You are correct that it is not a criminal offence to use an opposite sex changing room or toilet, regardless of how you identify.

However, if you refuse to leave when asked there are various crimes for which you might be prosecuted.

Service providers are not obliged to provide single sex services, but may be found to have unlawfully discriminated if they don't. They must also comply with building regulations when they provide mixed sex services.

Obviously you're new to this, as you're confusing sex and gender, so I won't pull you up for being transphobic. But do go away and learn the difference - there are plenty of resources.
