Royce White going off the reductio ad absurdum cliff:

She didn't say anything like that she was interviewed by ESPN see below, her original words are way less inflammatory, and the interview went viral. If anyone spread that interpretation it is ESPN which is making money from all this drama. It is weird they don't quote their own piece. If men get banned from WBNA it is down to ESPN even more than Sophie. She wasn't publicising her views if she is asked she will tell the truth and she will never ever give up. That was what the interview revealed.

Love her or hate her, Sophie Cunningham won't be ignored

You say she's authentic? That's because she is, she says. "You see so many people change or try to fit into a box," she says. "I don't even know what that box is. It's a fake box. Everyone wants to look the same. Everyone wants the same vibe. Screw that. I'm gonna be me."

But she also insists that none of this is some Rosetta Stone to unlocking the true nature of her political worldview.

"I'm very much in the middle. I agree with things on both sides, disagree with things on both sides. And that's all I've ever said about my political beliefs. But people love to assume."

I'm not clear on whether those are actually Sophie's words, but if the statement was ...she supports banning transgender males from girls' and women's sports, or ...she supports banning trans-identifying males from girls' and women's sports it would suddenly be a crystal-clear statement to every single 'I don't get all the fuss' person reading it.

No doubt TIMs etc would object to the wording, but that's purely because it makes everything so much clearer to call a spade a spade and not a forking spoon.

WBNA League taskforce still baffled about what is a woman question:

A WNBA task force of team presidents and general managers met Wednesday and discussed transgender athletes but did not arrive at any eligibility rules, according to a statement sent to ESPN by a league spokesperson.

In recent weeks, demonstrators have staged rallies for and against transgender inclusion at Indiana Fever games, after Fever guard Sophie Cunningham said in an ESPN article that she supports barring transgender girls and women from girls' and women's sports.

The league's statement Wednesday, in full, reads:
"Today's meeting covered a wide range of topics, including ongoing discussions on transgender athletes and the continued hate and vitriol directed at players online. We will continue to engage all league stakeholders in the coming weeks and months. We will approach these important conversations thoughtfully and in alignment with the values of our league. There are no immediate eligibility matters affecting the WNBA and we strongly denounce the bad-faith efforts to use these topics to demean or marginalize others."

I dunno. That's the first time I've heard fear of flying being an open symptom of latent transgenderism. I think they are breaking new ground. If nothing else these guys are being very creative in leaning in to this.

As is one bad male with a restraining order against him for abusing his wife and child. He's proving the point better than anyone else is. But let's not pretend that he's a "good male". He's doing this to assist his political ambitions. Bad people can do good things for bad reasons.

I struggled with whether this was a tad racist but in the end just laughed, given what Royce had already said.

He's really embracing his new found woman essence isn't he?! The absolutely brilliant thing is he's not saying anything that hasn't already been said on Planet TRA - he and the others are shining a great big spotlight onto the whole nonsense of men taking women's places in sport and showing it exactly for what it is.

He could also have gone down the 'We don't owe you femininity' route, like the TW who say that their beards, deep voices, male genitalia etc are no reason for them not to be 100% accepted as 100% women.
