I'm not going to bother going on with this but bundling two totally different issues together doesn't validate your statement.

Refuge making a statement is not the whole women's sector. It is one group.

So them making a statement doesn't mean the sector has made a statement.

The reason why other groups haven't said anything is about, as anyone who in on FWR knows, that they are concerned about being targetted.

But if you want to go on disrespecting other women in public carry on.

I’ll carry on pointing out how the women’s sector has been ideologically captured by gender identity ideology, you can make up whatever emotive nonsense you want about my opinion on it.

Apparently 'it is important to note that this guidance is not law' with regard to EHRC...

We've also got actual MPs (the people who create our legislation) apparently unable to tell the difference between law and statutory guidance for said law.

I used to be amazed that people couldn't tell the difference but now I think they're being deliberately obfuscatory to create confusion and uncertainty in society when it comes to organisations feeling able to enforce the legislation on access to single-sex spaces.

Today, the EHRC Code takes effect, restricting which toilets trans people can use.

Shami Chakraborty is on sky paper review. Given the news about the belated conviction of Simon Levy for 2 murders while on bail, I wondered if she'd recognise any Uncomfortable Thoughts that some of the things her former organisation campaigned for might have indirectly led to the situation she was tutting about. She actually seemed fairly sensible, in that she didn't overtly feel sorry for Levy or plead for compassion for him that he must have been terribly treated in his childhood which I was half expecting.

And then sky papers mentioned the EHRC guidelines on single sex spaces. She said the law and guidance is a mess (she didn't say the supreme court was wrong. I think as a lawyer she maybe cannot? She said she would not dare) because it leaves trans people who are a tiny tiny group at risk of exposure and vilification.

Then she actually echoed the line from Pot Noodle boy that this new law is akin to segregation under Jim Crow.

But hang on argued Kwasi Kwarteng (I mean, Christ), what about the safety of women like the story We Have Literally Just Been Discussing. Then Chakraborty went off on one about how actually it's not simple science and it's actually very complicated in scientific terms to distinguish between men and women.

Ahuh.

Anyway: telling Gillian Joseph and Kwasi Kwarteng that providing toilets by sex characteristics is like segregation. Just wow.
