A terribly unwell person. I do think that the police officer may have unintentionally escalated things. But it is just so very difficult dealing with that kind of behaviour because the person is so locked in to perpetuating a dysfunctional interaction. It felt like he was compelled to seek and keep the negative attention that his outrageous behaviour secured for him, even though he was clearly also frightened by it. You'd need to be a trained mental healthcare professional to have a chance of responding constructively.

Right - but this is precisely the type of rage monster they want to unleash on women and girls in changing rooms.

This person was asking to be called a particular thing and instead was pepper sprayed. A decent police officer could have asked for the persons name. The coverage I’ve seen suggests they will have a massive successful lawsuit for a disproportionate intervention. The rest is just being a bullying mob to someone who is clearly suffering.

I’m not sure I’m buying the ‘I’m distressed’ schtick. It appears to be more rage at not controlling those around him as they don’t jump when he says ‘hop’. He possibly gets away with a lot of bs behaviour when he dishes that out. Also, if the ‘misgendering’ wasn’t an issue, it would probably just be something else.

He was fairly with it all when he was telling the policeman ‘try it’ when he asked him to lower his voice and calm down, otherwise he would have to arrest him.

Then at the very end, the ‘I hate you. I hate you all, you escalated this, you didn’t have to pull out the pepper spray or continue to misgender me’. ‘You knew my buttons, and you set them off’. After all the bs he pulled.

To be honest I'm uncomfortable with these kinds of videos being held up to mock the individuals being filmed.

This is quite clearly someone struggling, almost certainly autistic and almost certainly having a meltdown. I think we all know well enough the rates at which autism coincides with a trans identity.

If this was your daughter who was having a meltdown in Asda because they didn't have the right kind of pasta, would you be happy for her to be plastered on the internet and called a Karen?

This incident happened in Feb 2025. The footage has just been made publicly available so that’s why it’s hit media now.

Very vulnerable bloke in distress yes. The police at the end were discussing where to take him, I caught ‘not gen pop’ but I’m not sure of the other terms, they were saying he needs care (I think).

We tried to 'be kind' to this type of person for far too long and THIS is where it got us. Validating and pussyfooting around this type of behaviour only enforces the delusion and makes these people think they they are in the right.

A reality check like this is needed for a hell of a lot of them. Maybe a few will see this and the publics reaction to it and reconsider their own behaviour in public next time.
