Linehan tweeting misogyny and racism now

Seems to have completed his lurch to the far-right - in addition to his vocal support of Trump, I suppose his 'defender of women and girls' schtick doesn't really wash any more...

Branding is simply a short cut for a belief system these days. Either you're ignorant of how modern advertising uses psychology to connect with consumers or are bad faith nit picking.

Only an extremely vacuous mind would conclude that.

This issue is about (genuine) human rights, morality, safeguarding.

Not 'branding' 🙄

NotBadConsidering · 19/07/2026 09:18

Personally, I think Gravity has really struggled with its branding in the post-Einstein era. It enjoyed steady growth in the market share as a result of Newton, but doesn’t have the same foothold anymore since 1905.

I never said it should in all single sex spaces. I disagree where I don't perceive proportionality.

Don't tell me, it's toilets isn't it?

It's only disproportionate when it just happens to be the one space you reeelly want to use. Daily. Maybe even hourly.

Whisperingwaters · 19/07/2026 09:22

TheKeatingFive · 19/07/2026 09:13

You don't seem to agree that women deserve single sex toilets though. Presumably that is something you don't deem 'proportionate'.

However single sex toilet provisions is fundamental for many vulnerable women - who have been abused for example, who are orthodox religious, who have to deal with female bodily functions when breastfeeding, having their period, menopause flooding. I could go on and on.

Why don't you think these women deserve toilet provision away from men?

It's about balancing rights though so the harms cut both ways. And let's not forget the very same females that GC's are attempting to protect are subjected to more scrutiny they may not be comfortable with.

You could argue the potential harms of abuse of male teachers & carers of very young children given their track record outweighing their right to that kind of employment…but we wouldn’t dream of it. Consistentcy?

God, the desperation. Stay out of women's toilets.

You are getting in the way of the long term survival of your brand by a far right alignment.

Sure you might get some legal wins…now but its a long way from over. Law just like the culture that underpins it isn't unchanging. The arc of history bends towards liberty not slavery & with the obvious generational schism I wouldn't be so confident of lasting victory.

Our “brand”?

We are ordinary women with opinions, we don’t all share the same opinions in everything, and we like to discuss things and share our opinions and experiences.

We really aren’t a brand, and this is not about marketing. It is about women feeling comfortable and safe in environments that have been designated female only.

The “far right” alignment is in the heads of conspiracy theorists and misogynists who cannot believe that women can formulate their own opinions without taking the lead from high profile spats on X.

Believe what you like, it really doesn’t matter.

TheKeatingFive · 19/07/2026 09:16

Transwomen are men. You know that as well as anyone else. Why lie about it?

They are a sub group of men as they are a sub group of women. Does that make them equally prone to the same behavioural patterns of men? That's debatable.

Datun · 19/07/2026 09:28

TRAs seem to be fuming that Graham got £25 grand. I wonder which stings more, the money or 'A Met spokesperson said on Thursday: “We recognise the considerable distress caused to Mr Linehan, and have offered our sincere apologies.

I reckon it's the money 😁

NotBadConsidering · 19/07/2026 09:28

Let’s talk about how the Far Left Extremists are funding a mass conspiracy to convince young people that humans can change sex, puberty isn’t important, men can go into women’s spaces and differences in sport are socially constructed.

I know there’s a Far Left Grift going on because I’ve seen retweets 😮

And also because of the GLP, who are actually grifting.

Branding is simply a short cut for a belief system these days. Either you're ignorant of how modern advertising uses psychology to connect with consumers or are bad faith nit picking.

Bollocks it is.

Branding has always used consumer behaviour and beliefs to persuade. It is not a ‘short cut’ to describe a groups belief systems because that would be misusing the term ‘brand’. If a group chooses to create a brand for themselves, there is a great deal of work around that specifically.

A ‘brand’ can claim to have a list of values that the organisation believes that will appeal to the people they are marketing to.

Groups campaigning for female people’s needs to have single sex provisions are not part of a ‘brand’. It is a misuse of the term to use it this way.

Do you believe it makes the campaigning from feminists and women and girl’s rights campaigners easier to dismiss by using (and misusing) capitalist language for it? It is just another empty accusation that has no foundation.

I don’t think that reminding us of the depravity of such male abusers and the lengths they will go to in order to perpetrate their abuse is a good move.
Many on here would sensibly advocate for additional scrutiny of men in such roles.

I never said it should in all single sex spaces. I disagree where I don't perceive proportionality.

But further up the thread you were arguing that sex isn't binary with dodgy link and all, where do single sex spaces come into that when sex is spectrum? Have you forgotten that already?

Helleofabore · 19/07/2026 09:33

Whisperingwaters · 19/07/2026 09:15

Strawman. Its trans women not men. And the younger generation beg to differ.

Howse that again? A straw man you say…. When I referred specifically to ‘male people’

And the polling shows that even those in the ‘younger generation’ want single sex provisions for their sex. They agree there should be additional mixed sex alternatives but they want single sex provisions.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 19/07/2026 09:34

Oh and the ‘younger generation’ have to also accept that the ‘older generation’ have needs that they have to consider too, because after all, we are talking about publicly accessible provisions that have to consider the needs of all age groups.

It's TRA logic.

'Look love, men will rape you anyway.'

'Men assault women, they don't care what sign is on the door.'

'Men commit awful crimes against women and children everywhere, so why can't they access your toilet?'

I can't imagine how anyone with even an ounce of sense would use these arguments. But they do, over and over.

These men don't seem to understand the nature of feminism, either. The older women get the more it becomes apparent how they need it.

So the younger generation is a movable feast. Always. Constantly.

These young women are not going to grow into older women who think the same as they did when they were 19.

It almost like these men have never been women, navigating life in a sexist society.

MargaretMeldrew · 19/07/2026 09:39

That makes zero sense. Honestly, your scientific illiteracy here is just embarrassing.

Its immaterial how one sub group of men behave. I don't expect elderly men are as much danger to women as younger men. That doesn't mean they should have access to our spaces.

Could be.

But it could also be that they realised that they have been discovered to be misusing police forces and that the mounting cases are causing plenty of media. I am sitting on the fence still.
