Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

Reform are supposedly the party of choice for young gay men

Well, at 62, I only know old gay men, and none of them are vaguely Reform.
However, politics is totally tribal now, not class analysis left v right, but your priorities on identity, culture war.
If I was gay, especially younger than my gay friends, seeing my identity at existential risk from the left wing gender identarians, hugely naive and performative gays like Polanski pushing for negating sexual preference to replace with gender temperament, I would also be looking to vote for the diametric opposite to this reordering of reality.
And that means Reform, and more and more I suggest Kemi Badenoch's Tory Party.

Looks like Polanski was at womad yesterday ( which just autocorrected to woman ♀️ 😁) rather than trans pride

https://nitter.net/class_bore/status/2081323018383401219#m

He could have gone to both maybe, like Phil Collins at Live Aid. But as posted on the YP thread, the organisers of trans pride actually barred the SWP from attending so would be interested to know if they were amenable to Zack

Imagine how toxic the SWP have to be for Trans Pride to not want to hang out with them, lol.
So, the ultimate horseshoe theory is Reform/Restore joining the SWP.

I second the laughter 😁

There was a protest by TRAs outside Hackney town hall earlier this week with green councillors in attendance. It included an effigy of Andy Burnham being stabbed by darts, so the activists have already decided he's a target. (Contrast with the remnants of the SWP / Your Party who have been told to soft pedal criticism of The Coming King of the North)

Interesting details in this article about motions at Green October conference on women's sport.

Make serving vegan food a legal requirement, say Greens
Restaurants and caterers could be forced to alter menus under proposed reforms using equality legislation
Roll-back on gender-based sports ban
Alongside this, members of Zack Polanski’s party will also be considering a motion to oppose gender-based blanket bans in sport which includes backing “trans-centric and trans-inclusive sporting projects”.
If it passes, the Green Party would then “work in government to undo the toxic environment around trans, intersex and gender-non-conforming people in sport”.
In May, after months of delays the Labour Government published an update to the Equality and Human Rights Commission code of practice.
It said that public bodies must ensure toilets, changing facilities and sports teams are segregated based on biological sex, not gender identity.
It followed the Supreme Court’s ruling in April which defined sex under the Equality Act as biological sex only.
It is unclear how the Green Party could “undo” any of this without contradicting the rulings from earlier this year.
Women’s rights warning
Fiona McAnena, director of campaigns for Sex Matters, said: “The party says it will oppose ‘gender-based blanket bans’.
“In plain language, this means allowing men who claim to be women into the female category, and denying fair sport to women and girls.
“Men, no matter how much they adopt feminine stereotypes, cannot be women and do not belong in women’s sport.
“The Green Party’s proposal to support ‘trans-centric and trans-inclusive sporting projects’ is yet another attempt to prioritise the feelings of trans-identifying men over the needs and rights of women and girls.”

More #BeKind politics from a green TRA candidate at the news of the death of Ann Widdecombe, which now looks even worse after news her death is being treated as suspicious

https://nitter.net/Ihatesugar3/status/2075505280478011872#m

What a loathsome individual, if that's his 'best self', he may not even be a human.

DrBlackbird · 10/07/2026 17:26

I hope.somebody is giving him some sensible briefings and that he will listen.

Hmm just not getting a serious politician vibe from eyelashes Andy. Be great if he was sensible but he’s just a bit too quick on the omnicause bus. Plus I hated all the gender neutral toilets in Manchester.

Zoe Williams seemed very impressed with this Gaza statement and atonement on sky last night. This time last year she was equally as enthused about the newly formed Your Party

He's already trashing Starmer for hugely letting down Gaza.
It must happen again. Apparently.
As if he'll have any say on things.
Little known fact... Tony Blair had no interest, less than zero interest in foreign affairs, until Kosovo.
And look where he ended up.

*it mustn't happen again...damn typos!

ArabellaScott · 10/07/2026 11:59

Blair reportedly had a Messiah complex. I wonder if thats where the signing in comments of Burnham came from.

At this point Im assuming crapitude is a given and they're just hoping for a bit of bantz to carry him through.

I'm also concerned he's already making pious videos about Gaza. We really need someone with strong awareness of global geopolitics who takes things seriously.

I understand a Labour PM will consider that needs balanced with appeasing the middle class fuckwits and the Muslim vote, but Russia et al will be very happy to capitalise on any ideological naivety.

I am aware of the many Burnham threads split between adoration and the fear of the looming antichrist and I realise it's the wrong thread but the adulation Labour MPs have got for him based on um, cheeky banter social media and vague platitudes is baffling.

like, what if he's crap as well?

In a video response posted hours later, the MP for Makerfield donned a T-shirt as he batted his eyelashes at the camera and clarified, “It’s dark blue, actually”.

Andy Burnham responds to Kemi Badenoch’s ‘eyelashes and black T-shirt’ jab

Andy Burnham has responded to Kemi Badenoch after she described him as a “pair of eyelashes and a black T-shirt”. During a fiery Prime Minister's Questions, the Conservative leader took several swipes at Sir Keir Starmer and the Labour Party. “They hav...

That's the genuine title of his thing. It's very much of a piece with Polanskis claim that "government debt isn't real".

Plus considering he's a millionaire ex BANKSTA he's still issuing Rachael Swindon style grifting begging appeals for funds to the presumably leftish ad skint followers of his.

You'd think Polanski would recognise fellow game

Oh! I thought Lucy Mangan was taking the piss.

This is a description of an encounter with him from Actual Tax Expert Dan Neidle.

Stevenson claims to be an expert in inequality

https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:dblasbhk3aqnuesmy6i2fyew/post/3mq7pnwgjrj25

The other strange thing about the interview was how many times Stevenson said he was one of the world's leading experts on inequality. This is not what experts tend to do. It made me uncomfortable and suspicious.

Polanskis currently on R4 Today arguing for rent controls, and their defence policy arguing heatwaves are a threat to national security. So... He's in favour of increasing defence spending? It is actually a case for resilience... He's saying something about gap analysis

Dan Neidle (@danneidle.bsky.social)

I don't usually write personal stuff, but a few words about my experience of being interviewed by Gary Stevenson. It started with a nice chat, comparing taste in hoodies... then the tone changed. He demanded to know why I'd deleted a tweet criticising...
