Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn9enygvezeo

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5456759-sexismother-issues-in-the-green-party-england-wales-discussion-thread-2?

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

ZP has said he'd "discourage" the chanting on pro Palestine marches eg Intifada etc.

In terms of online the green accounts have doubled down .

An aside here. The account mentioned here nominally tweets about Meghan markle and princess Di, but has pivoted to "Zack my leader".

https://nitter.net/hol40900/status/2050869336894521676#m

It's an AI bot.
https://nitter.net/danbarker/status/2050938563580121155#m

- the text is pure AI. 'Instead of X he's doing Y'. 'Social media wants X. He's doing Y'. 'That's not X [em-dash] that's Y'. - the account uses a very poorly created AI headshot, made by an old 'GAN' model.
You can always tell these as the eyes and mouth are in exactly the same spot (in the profile pic). They look friendly because the features are literally averaged from thousands of real human faces, but once you know how to spot them they're instantly recognisable as AI.

Who's boosting him?

"The question being asked is: “Would they hide me?”
I'm not Jewish but I've been using the same metric lately, mine has been more along the lines of Would this person hide Anne Frank or turn them over to the Nazi's? Depressingly, I've come to the conclusion that there far, far more collaborators than saviours, especially amongst those in positions of power and influence.

"If our political parties really mean it when they talk about unity against Jew hatred, they should act this week."
Don't hold your breath Trev, none of them seem capable of growing a spine anytime soon. 😕

The collaborators/saviour question is a question we post-WW2 born Germans have asked ourselves from a very early age on.

I have long argued that the solution to the housing crisis is to relax planning restrictions, but only in constituencies that vote Liberal Democrat.

I'm starting to worry that Zia Yusuf is eavesdropping on my conversations.

Once again I will call.for councillors and local authorities to be independent and non party political.

DrBlackbird · 03/05/2026 17:07

Will OJ permit Hadley to speak on the topic if Janice is to be silenced?

Corbyn (will the man not just shut up?) encouraged candidates to sign the “People’s Pledge for Palestine”, in which councillors promise to “ensure accountability for Israel’s crimes of genocide”.

This is insane to be asking local councillors to even reference a conflict that none of them will know anything of substance about. Why would my local councillors ensure accountability for Gaza when they can’t even take accountability for the town centre graffiti? Given that they cannot and do not have the slightest influence over the Middle East conflict, is this a not so subtle bid for the local Muslim vote?

Muttering about Mothin Ali's lack of support for the LGBTQ is increasing. Peter Tatchell has called for him to make a statement.

Gosh, with the anti Semites suing the party on top of the gender critical women also suing them, Polanski is going to need to keep those membership fees at record levels to just about cover the party's legal fees.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 03/05/2026 16:15

This article from the G is from 2018, I wonder if they'd print such an article now-a-days.

"The origins of today’s crisis in Labour date back to the 19th century, and ever since Jews have been seen as a problem by a strain of socialist thought"

The shame of antisemitism on the left has a long, malign history | Philip Spencer | The Guardian

The Greens seem to have inherited a lot of Labours antisemites, although there's still plenty left in the Labour Party, if you add in militant Muslims and you've got one hell of a nasty party.

"Not content with accusing Israel of being like apartheid South Africa, it is supposedly guilty of genocide itself… against the Palestinians."

1984Now · 03/05/2026 16:12

SionnachRuadh · 03/05/2026 11:53

Antisemitism on the left has been around for a very long time, and you don't have to have read Robert Wistrich on its history to see that it's never gone away. Leftists have become very skilled at unseeing this because they've convinced themselves that antisemitism is by definition a right wing phenomenon. [1]

I think a breaking point for me was Corbyn's leadership of Labour, specifically the Luciana Berger affair. (I'm not close to Luciana but we have mutuals, so I knew lots of the detail.) I witnessed Lindsey German, who is not a stupid woman, tie herself in rhetorical knots to deny that Corbyn or his supporters had anything to do with this: you see, all the threats and antisemitic abuse directed at Berger came from the far right, while Corbyn fans were only criticising her disloyalty to Dear Leader. Lindsey had her narrative and by jingo she was going to push it no matter how distant from the truth it was.

I watched Corbynite ganzer macher James Meadway, also not a stupid person, spend years not only denying there was antisemitism in Labour, but loudly mocking anyone who said there was. As soon as Corbyn was gone and Starmer was leader, he was offering himself as an honest broker who could sort out the party's antisemitism problem. Now he's in the Greens, establishing himself as one of Zack's policy guys.

Let's not forget all the Palestine marches they have been on, where they can't have failed to hear Muslim crowds doing the Khaybar chant, and I don't believe for an instant that experienced political operators like Corbyn and McDonnell and Abbott and John Rees don't know exactly what that means.

I can't tell you how much contempt I feel for a lot of these people. I know it's natural to want to downplay the problems in your political tribe, but blatantly lying about it for years is another thing.

This is getting to be a serious problem for the Greens, with their influx of Momentum types adding to the cranky fringe the party already had, and I don't think Zack has much space left where he can claim to be naive rather than dishonest.

And of course they'll come after him in the end.

[1] There is also antisemitism on the right of course - it's very easy to find on X, particularly among Rupert Lowe supporters, and (thinly veiled) among the young men he's hired to run his party. I'm not sure what will happen when they discover what a massive Israel supporter Rupert is.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, that Zack.
Zack knew full well what tiger he was riding.
He was happy to open up anti Semitism and extreme entryism in the party so he could succeed politically where Corbyn just failed, while using his Jewish identity as a badge of honour.
Nicola Sturgeon, Theresa May and Penny Mordaunt were happy to weaponise gender self ID while claiming as women they'd never put women at risk.
Now he's being confronted with the zero sum situation of opening this Pandora's Box, bringing it into the heart of a previously very peaceful party, trying to play both sides at the same time (" I'm a Jew and abhor anti Semitism, but also Jews are playing up their perception of (anti) safety".
The coward playing the game of politics in the way he decries others on the right for playing.

Implement a fair and humane system of managed immigration
Treat all migrants as if they are citizens
Give all residents the right to vote
Help families to be together
Dismantle the Home Office
Abolish the No Recourse to Public Funds condition
Abolish the ten year route to settlement'
Thats bold! 😂

Thats written by someone who just trying to annoy their dad.

Issued in a joint statement by the 'Ministry for Silly Walks' and the 'Department of Free Ice Cream' . 🙄

And I also think that although the suggestion is that Philips and Kuenssberg were supposed to be presenting really hard, super challenging interviews, they didn't.

They made some soft feints and then stepped back and allowed Polanski to deliver his weak ass homilies.

It all looks pretty bullshit to me.

ArabellaScott · 03/05/2026 14:40

It's interesting, I was just looking for a youtube of this morning's Kuenssberg/Polanski interview. There are many videos, here are some of the headlines:

Zack Polanski NAILS Laura K Interview

Zack Polanski's explains to Laura Kuenssberg the difference between one million and one billion

Zack Polanski SLAMS Labour on Laura Kuenssberg Show

Laura Kuenssberg Gets SILENCED After Zack Polanski Drops Brutal Facts On LIVE TV!

Zack Polanski COOKS Laura Kuenssberg LIVE On TV

These all seem to be videos from lefty bros.

The language of violence, gleefully reporting that a man NAILS or SLAMS or COOKS a woman is unmistakable, to me.

Anyway. Just an observation.

DrBlackbird · 03/05/2026 13:35

From the BBC article today:

Polanski said he did not agree with Sir Keir's view before saying he would "discourage" the use of the phrase but he is "not interested in trying to police people's language". He added: "I think it's important that we make sure that we have freedom of speech in this country and freedom of protest."

Except that he is very much interested in policing people’s language. One clear example being TWAW or you’re out of the Green party.

The more he speaks, the more he’s going to end up tying himself in knots justifying his position and his party’s position, neither of which is based in logic. His immersive acting can take him only so far. Useful idiot indeed.

SionnachRuadh · 03/05/2026 13:35

Owen Jones has been refusing to see antisemitism for years, and is now hypersensitive to it when someone criticises his party leader.

Where was he when Luciana Berger was under attack? He was part of the mob, that's where.

"from the River to the Sea" and "globalize the Intifada" could never make any Jew feel unsafe. Whatever they might say.
Whereas "biological men should be allowed in women's prisons and sport" is a guaranteed to make TRAs feel unsafe. Because they say so.
