Whilst waiting for my dinner to cook I had a look at TERF Watch's web presence. It's like stepping through the looking glass. Headlines on their Substack include "Brighton-based Rape Crisis Centre bullied into setting up support group for only cis women" and "Sisters heal to launch group for parents skeptical of their trans children". Brace yourselves and have a look!

Yes this should really be linked to the original thread by IamSarah as from the moment this advertised they have been harrased.

It is disgusting that still trans people do not accept and will not allow women the right they have under law to find support by meeting and talking only with other biological females.

The article really should have mentioned how the rape crisis service has trans specific groups and mixed sex groups but still hasn't managed women only.

Not a bad article for the BBC.

I think it's ok that this article hinges on trauma, because it's relevant to the premise of Sisters Heal.

I like the eye opening juxtaposition of Rosie Hayes' description of what survivors need, with the misogynist dudes claiming the class only exists to exclude transwomen. Remember a lot of "be kinders" have no idea how batshit trans activists can get.

Massive kudos to Rosie for going public.

I know Rape Crisis Sussex haven't set up the provision they promised but I'm sure Sarah was separately involved in setting up a service for women (just women) offering retreats etc.

No it isn’t WarrenT. That has been approved and funded but for mysterious reasons the organisers won’t set it up. This is a separate single sex group set up because none was available. There’s a Mumsnet thread on it somewhere (sorry not good at linking)

Agree. After so many years of the BBC refusing to report on anything other than drag-queens-in-everything this is amazing. Come on general public, look how evil these TRA groups are.

The silver lining appears to be that the TRAs appear to agree what "single-sex services" means. At least the BBC didn't frame them as saying TiM's should be admitted to single (female) sex services because they are female.

If the need is make believe, why do they have to go to such great lengths to shut down anyone who try's to say otherwise? Make it make sense fuckwits.

I see parallels between Brighton and Seattle in the USA, that's a city that is practically a lawless 'do whatever we tell you zone'. Ever the copycatist.

Honestly, there are occasions on which women get together to talk about the ire that they feel when men cosplay as women. This website provides an online version of it.

But a group like the one in this article is so obviously one where women get together to talk about the trauma they've suffered following violent assault at the hands of men. No more, no less. So allowing men would be antithetical to the purpose of the group. This is blindingly obvious.
