Husband and five other men charged with sex offences against ex-wife (England)

A husband and five other men have been charged with a string of sexual offences against his ex-wife over a 13-year period.

Philip Young, formerly of Swindon but now living in Enfield, has been charged with 56 sexual offences, including rape and administering a substance with intent to stupefy/overpower to allow sexual activity.

The 49-year-old has also been charged with voyeurism, possession of indecent images of children and possession of extreme images.

Five other men have also been charged with offences against his ex-wife, 48-year-old Joanne Young, who has waived her right to anonymity.

All six men are due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Mr Young, who police described as a white British national, has been remanded in custody.

In this past year there has been the Pelicot case in France, and a recent thread on FWR about a man in Germany abusing his wife, another in Spain, and now this.

How many households is this going on in?

Wt actual f is wrong with these disgusting monsters? And yes, this will is the tip of the iceberg, I fear . That poor woman. How do you get over that, ffs ? I do thing there should be women only communities but we all know what "women " would force their way into these .

I bet many women would have prefer to think “Not my Nigel” and “Not all men” instead of that this is really scary and hard to discover.

I knew the Pelicot case would be the tip of the iceberg. I think it would be shocking to see how many men plan to do this or have done this - remember folks there was a group chat with over 7000 men discussing how to rape their wives, sisters and other family members and sharing their crimes. And that is just what was found.

Poor woman and very brave to release her name, which means her husband’s name is also released.

The abundance of platforms enabling and encouraging the abuse of privacy, dignity and safety of women and children is sadly all the proof we need that men run the internet and tech world's and have a major hand in preventing their closure.
After a young South Asian woman was gang raped and set on fire the video was the most viewed on Pornhub in its history.
None of this content serves a purpose that's useful to society, in fact it encourages negative actions - to put it very mildly - and the sentences given to these men is woefully inadequate

Think its really important given that MN FWR is used by search engines that something like this is made explicit.

Rather than just a general remark.

And also because it links to the Pelicot threads and the case in Germany helps spell out that this isn't as rare as people might have thought.

Half a million men per month were viewing the French website that Gisele Pelicot's husband posted rape videos of his wife on.

The website was called "a son insu" meaning "without her knowledge".
Half a million men consuming videos of women being raped by their partner while drugged.

There is likely to be many many more cases like this as it is incredibly easy for a husband/boyfriend to sedate his wife/girlfriend with prescription pills.
Pelicot drugged his wife using prescription medication.

Tip of the iceberg I reckon.
Half a million men a month were logging into Coco.fr which is the site that Gisèle Pelicot's husband was posting rape videos of his wife on for his sadistic pleasure and that of 500,000 other perverts.
