No words can express my revulsion at these pricks nor adequately convey my admiration at the strength of Joanne Young.

Disgusting title the bbc chose too- they’ve objectified her too. Why not say that a woman was brutally assaulted by her ex husband?

It does show just how pathetic they all are with their masks. I hope they live in fear every day they are not locked up, and in more fear every day once they are locked up.

If they are convicted, we could make it so with a crowd funder.

The names and faces of those men should be published and displayed on screens and billboards all over the country. Just look at the cowards in their masks and face coverings.

I said something similar on a thread about the MSP who was in the news for supporting a bloke convicted of having indecent images of children. I think the reason that some sentences are so lenient is because there are so many of these monsters that there isn’t enough room in the prison estate to contain them.

The availability of the technology, which allows perpetrators to share images etc of their crimes with other men, means there will be more and more of this I think.

We could build more prisons. Doing so would employ people, so win-win.

I'd be outside the court to show support if this was something she felt supported by. A quiet protest and show of solidarity

Yes this. Sickening case. She has waived her anonymity (not sure how to spell that!). She deserves whatever support she wants.

I think it’s the utter pornification of our societies, everything (i.e. womens bodies) is treated as entertainment. It’s utterly foul, I don’t understand how so many men are so depraved.

I wonder what, if anything, we could and should do to show our support for her? The support for Gisele Pelicot, with crowds of women applauding her at court every day, was heartwarming.

She's asked for her privacy to be respected. Is that code for "piss off journos"? My intuitive feeling is that it might also mean "please, no well-meaning blizzard of support postcards".

Utterly sickening and the figures of depraved men logging on to watch rape is just mind boggling.
These men must hate women but try to hide it from their wives/partners so they have a skivvy, a victim and a cover for their depravity.
It makes me literally shudder to think what these poor women have been subjected to.
There is no legal appropriate punishment for these monsters- who really don’t think they have done anything wrong. Women are objects, chattels.

Utterly terrifying and depressing in so may ways. I admire the victim for forgoing her right to remain anonymous to bring this into the light.

I think we all know how depraved men can be, and how common such things are. Far more common than we probably imagine. What else is there to say?
