Green Party lawyers warn guidance on identifying ‘queerphobia’ risks discriminating against members who question gender ideology

The Green Party is tearing itself apart over internal trans guidance, a leaked dossier has revealed.

The 53-page report on legal and reputational risk to the party, leaked to The Telegraph, exposes an extraordinary row over the party’s policies on transgender and LGBT rights.

It poses material legal and financial risks to Zack Polanski’s movement, the dossier reveals.

The report, drawn up by the party’s own lawyers, raises concerns over “expulsions” of members who question gender ideology.

It says these have not always followed “due process”, suggesting party lieutenants have been taking disciplinary action against members because of “individual hostility to gender-critical beliefs, or assumed beliefs”.
It warns such sanctions “should only be undertaken in extreme circumstances” and that action against gender-critical members is sapping morale and “failing to inspire the trust and confidence of large numbers of party members”.

The report also reveals the party is spending almost £200,000 a year on its legal costs and external investigations of disciplinary cases, threatening its ability to carry out key functions.

"queerphobia" now! has 'transphobia' been upsurged? are they changing the narrative again, they're going to run out of phobia's soon.

Despite been barn pot crazy, the Green Parties membership keeps raising, so may be the leadership thinks it has money to burn because it can always relay on the membership for more.

Yes, perhaps "transphobia" doesn't really cover a natural aversion to being confronted by twats with unfortunate tastes in hair colour, facial tattoos and nose piercings? So they've widened the concept to "queerphobia" which somehow manages to condemn real lesbians for not pretending to fancy lads in makeup?

Men who correct women could face disciplinary action under plans being considered by the Green Party.

Party bosses are considering a proposal to broaden the Greens’ definition of misogyny to the point that “any disagreement” between the sexes could lead to the man facing a sanction.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2025/12/13/greens-to-punish-male-members-who-correct-women/ and at https://archive.is/3bw4d

Well this doesn't make sense, because if this was true then Women in the Green Party would be able to express their gender critical views, ie sex is biological, and not be accused of transphobia!

I suspect there are plenty of pro-gender ideology women in the Greens.

But it is crazy that theoretically, you could have one man disciplined for correcting a woman for saying something, while another man was disciplined for correcting a differernt women in the opposite direction.

I think that illustrates very clearly the land of crazy that id pol - hierarchies of oppression combined with group stereotyping - leads to.

Just when you think they've reach the limit on batshittery they go and invent a new crazy to give to the country. 😳

Perhaps because: "The report also reveals the party is spending almost £200,000 a year on its legal costs and external investigations of disciplinary cases"

Jesus Christ.

Imagine the legal cases challenging a green party government if they run their own party this badly and counter to the law!

Just because you are in government, doesn't mean you are able to rip up every existing law you don't like ...

It's scary they are behaving like this.

Yet we dinosaurs had figured this out years ago, before the court cases had even begun.

The BBC have form with doing it to the Lib Dems even when they were pro trans in every other respect. The other parties might also stir the pot too.

I totally agree with you.

We have to understand that much politics especially now is pretty emotional.

Most people have joined Greens for vibes stuff.. Polanski being a charismatic man, Gaza, fear of Reform, simplistic solutions like taxing rich. The gender stuff is way down the line.
Similar vibes based politics for Farage.

If we understand this though we have a chance to push things in the direction we want long term though.

For Hypno and other TAs, unlike a lot of his voters, gender stuff is absolutely essential. It is a core target. He will sacrifice his "socialist" agenda to get men in dresses, any men including rich ones, extra stuff.

We don't need to worry about convincing everyone not to vote Green because they think it will make their lives better. All we need to do is to trigger ZP into doing and saying things which divert from his popular policies, to get him talking about how the biggest issue in the UK right now is not the economy, crime or the environment, but that men in dresses can't do what they want.

To do this all women have to do is say things, have sports, etc. They have a big opportunity to trigger the crazy in the run up to the May elections by simply turning up at hustings, posting online and so on.

This might not lose them many votes at first, but the more we make them mad, the more unpopular we can make them over time.

Unfortunately as others have said, there isn’t enough visibility of the Greens and this issue in the mainstream media. I can imagine them showing their ‘true colours’ in any tv pre-election debate. But that would still depend upon the BBc or Sky or whoever seeing trans overreach as being a major policy area and actually asking them about it… and I’m not sure that would happen.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/12/2025 02:39

I reckon his own members will do that job for him, as any hint that he’s not 100% going to be a gender zealot in ways he probably doesn’t even want to be will trigger a lot of pressure on him. From what I’ve seen of them on Twitter etc, many of them are utterly batshit.

All of them, I think! Definitely happened in European, Australia, NZ and Canadian Greens.

And who could forget the shitshow that is the Scottish Green Party?

They won't be the first Green Party to tear themselves apart over identity politics and intersectionality. I would love someone to do an in depth examination of why this is happening to parties like this.

It depends on which bubble you live in.

As I say sadly on any level whether sex based women's rights, or anything else, women dont even register as something to think about.

But many caught up in being "woke" are very LGBTQI* with no analysis.

So in male terms Green Party is "revolutionary" but in terms of women's politics, just another male dominated party.

Quite surprised at the number of posters actually thinking most people do an in depth analysis of political parties.

Most join or support based on quick headlines.

Yes, a lot of people joined the Greens because they perceive Labour as too “right wing”. This is one of the hot button issues for that, as is Gaza.

I thought a chunk of people joined the Greens precisely because of their trans stance? Ie it was more of an active decision not just I’ve joined the Greens because of Labour and it just happens that this is their trans policy.

That’s very interesting. So maybe the normal Labour members have gone to the Greens and the batshit ones have gone to Your Party.

From what I know from friends plenty of the batshit ones have gone to the Greens and many think YP is “transphobic”.

moto748e · 13/12/2025 01:12

Agree, @fromorbit ; can't see it going any other way.

fromorbit · 13/12/2025 01:07

The Greens sexism is helping them in certain ways, but it hinders them in others. They just keep coming up with more absurdities. No-one should deny ZP's charisma like Trump and Farage he has real conviction and can sell it. This impresses people. Look at the surge in membership.

Yet his ability to underestimate women is going to be an issue for him long term.

Hypno Boobs ongoing misogyny is no surprise and he has reinforced it in recent days by going after a female ethnic minority Labour MP over the Bum Gate scandal which in itself shows his contempt for care workers. See the Green thread for details:
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5456759-sexismother-issues-in-the-green-party-england-wales-discussion-thread-2?

This leaked report indicates that sooner or later the Greens are going to crash and burn over denying the existence of men and women. ZP will throw more and more money into doomed court cases. Everyone he loses makes our side stronger.

It will take time, but it is only going one way. The real down side is that the Greens look to be taking down the British left with them and making a Reform government inevitable.

I said this on another thread, but from what I have seen any one talking about joining the Greens is because Labour is now seen as Tory lite.

And their interest is more on traditional areas such a benefits etc..

Nobody every mentions women.

Its very noticable once you are outside of FWR the issue of women never comes up.

Some may mention LBGTQI* whatever, but no one even mentions women let alone women's rights.

It is like old fashioned Labour. Women are just there to support the bros!

It is depressing to know that some, in seeking a new party because they feel let down by the one they have traditionally supported, seems more than happy to support one that doesn't support women's sex based rights.
