I think you should write back to ask him to clarify those remarks and provide evidence of this accusation. At least you got a reply... I have been ignored

Mine didn’t vote and I can see was away. If sensible they will reply something vague thanking me for my email and how unfortunately they were unable to be there. I haven’t seen them say much on the trans/sex based right debate so expect they want to keep powder dry.

The constituency party was not happy at having a candidate imposed so if sensible they will try to keep party members happy to avoid a trigger ballot at the next election that could deselect them. It happened in a nearby seat last election.

He told you that you’re transphobic! I’d be tempted to write back and ask in what evidence he bases that on.

My mp responded today. He said that he voted against it and was glad it was voted down by parliament.
He told me I am transphobic and that the amendment would have had a dangerous effect on the lives of trans people.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who spotted the incompatibility of the Data Bill with GDPR. I included that point in my email to my MP, but she's one of the pronouns-in-biography crowd so will undoubtedly ignore me. Can't claim later that she wasn't warned though.

I disagree - education and professional qualifications still favour men. So we will still see men who have been given a better education winning out against women who are working with one hand tied behind our backs.

I had no response from my Conservative MP and on checking the vote he is listed as no vote recorded.

My MP is about 20 and very very woke. She is quite newly elected, represents labour, is totally pro trans and against women's rights, and has so far ignored every single email I have ever sent her - even though she is under legal obligation to reply to my emails!

Given that the For Women Scotland case was an objection to newly created law, if the government fail to create a law that can work coherently with the Supreme Court ruling and the EA, might another case be possible? Not that I want that to be necessary, obviously and it absolutely shouldn’t be, but I guess Sex Matters will announce their next steps when all is clear.

Not quite convinced by Chris Bryant's 'nothing much to worry about here'. We've seen a fair bit of politicians thinking they know better than the courts lately.

Well that's a punch in the gut, how could so many of them vote against it, it wasn't even close.

I emailed my MP (Labour) but I didn't hear back, do we know if the party whip was used to make them vote against it because if so mine would have done what he was told.

It seems that they didn’t pass it because not because they think recording sex is evil and wrong, but because they’re already trying to incorporate the Sullivan Review into the data bill, and this amendment would confuse things? I’m not sure I completely understand…

I wonder how many of them bothered to read the Sex Matters briefing. I've just gone back and re-read it. It really couldn't be clearer, and the dangers it points out are obvious. Did they just think, yeah, fuck all that?

Yes, no that’s fair enough. But it must interact at some level - otherwise we’re going to have digital ID saying people are the “sex” they identify as, which will make it impossible to maintain actual single-sex spaces.
