Heather: Its really frustrating rn with Bill C16, gender expression and ID, bc now any male can identify as female and be sent to a female institution... it started happening when I was there

Heather: no theyre not segregated
Heather: we had 1 who actually went through with the surgery and was there. But this person... they sexually harassed us, made remarks and comments and was just like, disgusting

Heather: So she did not wear a wig but used to brag all the time, “I’m a man from here up and female from here down” Looked like a total guy, there’s no mistaking that.
Heather: then there was another 1 I was in the halfway house with... they hadn’t undergone the surgery yet, but she was more woman than 1/2 the girls I did time with, so I didnt have a problem with her.
Heather: I just talked to 1 of my friends today & shes really really big on all this, trying to get stats from correctional services & they will not release the stats on trans. in our jails. I’m not sure what they’re trying to hide but as of Jan there r 10 in female facilities
Heather: But the thing that is happening is that all the requests that are coming from male institutions, are “women” who have sexual offenses against women and children.
Heather: So we have Canada’s youngest dangerous offender in Fraser Valley, where they had a child on their medium compound with this person. This person was in for molesting a 3 month old, did so much damage that the 3mo had to have reconstructive surgery,
And then this person proceeded to mutilate himself and eat his own skin. He is now in with women and children.
Mark: do they not keep him separate?
Heather: no
Heather:Bc I was talking to my friend &she said that actually she was at an event & a guard came up to her & said “do not let anyone touch your baby, there’s a dangerous sexual offender in this room rn who has not been around children in yrs& we dont know how they’re gonna react”
Mark: they’re not allowed to say which one but shrug
Heather: so then she was freaked out, cause wouldn’t you be freaked out if you had your baby with you there?
Mark: sounds like the baby’s transphobic too /sarcasm
Heather: so she asked around & someone said “thats who it is and this is what they’re in for”
Heather: The thing that’s happening, inside now, they’re using ‘transphobic’ or ‘they’re discriminating against me bc I’m trans’ but then they’re going and antagonizing the women. When the women retaliate or do anything, they just claim discrimination
