New Mumsnet Talk platform

Mumsnet is re-platforming and the site will be down from midnight on Tuesday 19th April until 5am on Wednesday 20th April

What do I need to do?

The first time you log on to Mumsnet post-replatforming you will need to remember your password. If you can’t (and let’s face it, few of us can) then you’ll need to reset your password. Sorry if that’s a pain - but it is the only secure way to do this.

What will be different?

Not too much! Our main objective in re-platforming is to move onto a new code base that will allow us to develop and improve features much faster. We have kept the functionality and design largely unchanged for now, aside from small enhancements to the user experience and some updates to a few features that don't function optimally. So, for example, there is a new version of Search and a new version of Private Messages.

Important - you may need to update your browser

Keeping your web browser up to date is important for your security. Whether you view Mumsnet on your computer, tablet or mobile phone, you use a web browser and there are lots to choose from - Apple’s Safari, Mozilla’s Firefox, Google's Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Often, browser updates are made automatically but in some cases, there may be actions that you need to take to ensure you are running the latest version.

If you still view Mumsnet on an older browser you may experience compatibility problems with images, videos and links not working properly and you might not be able to post on a thread or fill in a form. To ensure you avoid these kinds of issues, we suggest you update your browser in the next few days.

It’s a really simple process -  here’s how to do it:

Google

Apple

Firefox
