If you’re a parent of an older child or teenager, knowing they’ve arrived safely at school, a friend’s house or an after-school activity can offer some welcome reassurance - especially as they become more independent.
That’s where HeyPolo comes in. The family location sharing app is designed to help families stay connected when they’re apart, with real-time location sharing as well as arrival and departure alerts.
We asked 50 Mumsnet users to put HeyPolo through its paces and tell us what they really thought. 83% of testers said they’d recommend HeyPolo to friends and family, earning the app a Mumsnet Rated badge.
Why families recommend HeyPolo
For many of our testers, the biggest benefit of HeyPolo was simple: reassurance. Being able to see where family members were and receive notifications when they’d arrived somewhere safely meant less worrying - and less need to send the inevitable “Are you there yet?” message.
Testers particularly liked:
Real-time location sharing for keeping track of family members
Arrival and departure notifications
The extra peace of mind it offered when their children were out independently
A straightforward set-up
Being able to keep the whole family connected in one place
What Mumsnet testers had to say about HeyPolo
The location tracking was great. It gives such peace of mind to me as a parent.
Real-time location. Stopped me worrying!
Being able to see where family members are in real time. I also thought the alerts when members arrived/left home was useful.
Being able to see where my son and husband were at that exact time was reassuring and helpful.
Arrival notifications were another feature that stood out for testers:
I LOVED the arrival notification. The ability to tell my daughter about the emergency features which hopefully we will never use but I’m so grateful to have them.
