In totally unrelated news, you might be interested in what the civil service LGBTI champion Jonathan Slater has been doing. Here's his long piece about Trans Day of Visibility, published a few days after all the schools were closed. I mean, there's someone who clearly knows how to prioritise...

Didn't he win prizes?
That is very good news.
He was Stonewall Senior Champion 2019.
"Jonathan Slater, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Education, said: ‘I am absolutely delighted to have won the Stonewall Senior Champion of the Year award. "

It's all so cosy!
Who is his wife again? Isn't she in govt too?
He is married to Jane Ramsey who has a post on the Committee on Standards in Public Life.
And your point is?
And your point is?
I think we can all draw our own conclusions. I personally read that the transgender bandwagon has been an easy way for people and companies to virtue signal without actually doing anything worthwhile.
Good riddance.
If he'd spent more time on the core purpose of education and less time receiving awards from lobby groups and funding and enabling his friends in Stonewall, Mermaids et al to have uncritical access to children in schools, we may not have a 4,000% increase in children wanting to transition.
He's been a key player in the DfE promoting unqualified political lobby groups to schools in order to sell their adult beliefs to children. I hope he is one of the adults who is subsequently held to account for his actions and for the damage that has been done to vulnerable children too young to give informed consent to what they are encouraged to believe by these groups.

This.
There's a huge difference between supporting and encouraging tolerance, equality and acceptance - or, as seems to have been the case here, planting the seeds of a controversial political ideology in the institutions we trust to look after our nation's young minds.
Here's hoping his successor is less knobbled.
Xanthangum
Absolutely. He is completely complicit in what has happened. I've taught 'sensitive ' subjects for years and know how carefully teachers put together programmes involving different ideologies and check carefully our own biases to ensure that we don't unwittingly influence children with our own political ideas. Yet people like him have been so determined to ensure that children believe TWAW and that girls have no right to same sex changing rooms, showers and dormitories that the DfE has not only become become a conduit for these groups with tens? hundreds? of thousands of ££ of public money being diverted to fund these predominantly white middle aged / class groups while the needs of children living in poverty and deprivation, BAME children, girls on the receiving end of torrents of sexual harassment, SEN groups are ignored in favour of these self absorbed groups.
It makes me furious.
Marvellous posts, persistentwoman

Commonly known as the Nolan Principles:
"1.2 Integrity
Holders of public office must avoid placing themselves under any obligation to people or organisations that might try inappropriately to influence them in their work. They should not act or take decisions in order to gain financial or other material benefits for themselves, their family, or their friends. They must declare and resolve any interests and relationships."
I would say shilling for Stonewall and getting sparkly awards from them is as good an example of a breach of those principles as I have seen in many years.
Glad something positive has come out of this exam shambles.
EHRC David Isaac gone - strong Stonewall links
Johnathan Salter going going gone
World Rugby
Ann Sollitt - judicial review
Allison Bailey - after Stonewall
so much going on, I'm getting a bit exited 😁
Keira Bell - after Tavistock (October?)
Susan Evans - Tavistock
Sonia Appleby - Tavistock
All amazing but let's forget to Mermaids...
(Not forget Mermaids I meant.)
I'm waiting to see where he turns up next on the merry-go-round of jobs for the boys.
Interesting RT by Jane Ramsey. Oh for a push for similar transparency on lobbying activities. twitter.com/PublicStandards/status/1293494471955554304
Indeed EwwSprouts There never seems to be a shortage of lucrative job opportunities on the woke gravy train for white males focussed on removing the rights of women.
Indeed persistentwoman, plenty of jobs for the boys...

Aww, such a shame. His commitment to dismantling women's rights sounds quite without peer.
Someone's started a thread about him in AIBU. It's either his Mum, or fans from Stonewall.
