They've looked into it apparently and don't want to get involved.

But. I wonder how many people are now wondering/googling what exactly has done that is so bad to be nominated for dick if the year and subsequently are bring swiftly re- directed to his sensible statements on the matter.

He was robbed. I was so looking forward to his acceptance speech. I can’t believe Graham is being discriminated against in this way. After all isn’t it supposed to be acceptance without exception for everyone?
Solidarity to you Graham.

I think he would have been happy to get the award and explain to the public why.

Are they going to give the award to Prince Andrew? That was who I voted for and one of the few names I saw crop up a few times on the twitter feed.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown Sat 14-Dec-19 08:10:42

TRAs are now calling Last Leg transphobic for not nominating Glinner. They're apparently 'playing into hateful rhetoric' and 'throwing trans people under the bus'
That's it. A satire show didn't select the nomination they were campaigning for so they accuse them of hate and bigotry.

BishopBrennansArse Sat 14-Dec-19 08:12:07

I've watched for years, there has genuinely always been the rule saying if someone wants the award it disqualifies them.

bellinisurge Sat 14-Dec-19 08:19:53

Apologies for the temporary derail but I'm guessing by your username that @BishopBrennansArse might know. I was telling my dh about Glinner and during my explanation he said " is there really going to be a Father Ted:The Musical? That would be great". So, @BishopBrennansArse , is there?
Again, apologies for the derail.

PurpleHoodie Sat 14-Dec-19 08:23:45

@Glinner

Can you confirm for bellinisurge?

P.s. You were robbed 😁

Was looking forward to the speech.

People are getting fed up the constant childish temper tantrums that the TRA's throw when they don't get their own way.

Soon the fear of being labelled transphobic will be replaced with eye rolling and yes of course it is dear. They are creating a boy who cried wolf situation for themselves and they forget that there is a whole big world outside who don't give two hoots.

Personally I think it would have been great for Glinner to win it just for his speech and the platform it would give the G.C. Crowd wink.

exwhyzed Sat 14-Dec-19 08:42:46

So now even saying 'we don't want to get involved' is transphobic?

Oh dear

I seems like everything is deemed transphobic nowadays. Which makes life much more difficult for those struggling with genuine gender dysphoria and experience taunting because of it as it won't be taken seriously anymore.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain Sat 14-Dec-19 09:43:32

I don't think those people understand what throwing someone under the bus means. It doesn't work in this context. It doesn't mean 'you didn't do what I wanted' or even ' you did something nasty to me'.

Ameanstreakamilewide Sat 14-Dec-19 09:44:05

Graham's acceptance speech would have been dynamite! 🧨

You'd be able to hear a pin drop, in that studio.

CaveMum Sat 14-Dec-19 09:47:22

I said to a friend on Facebook last night that what we need is for Ricky Gervais to go on The Last Leg and drop Yaniv into the conversation.

I like the Last Leg team a lot, I really hope they are GC even if they don’t publicly say so.

DuMondeB Sat 14-Dec-19 10:10:28

If they weren’t GC before, they might well be after being attacked by TRAs for trying to stay neutral.

That’s generally how it starts.

CaveMum Sat 14-Dec-19 10:13:27

Very true.

The other thing that struck me whilst watching, and not for the first time, is what a crying shame it is that Rory Stewart didn’t win the Tory leadership contest.

Ereshkigal Sat 14-Dec-19 10:15:12

TRAs are now calling Last Leg transphobic for not nominating Glinner

Gold grin

Ereshkigal Sat 14-Dec-19 10:16:35

I wonder if they are aware of the "transabled" movement?

vivariumvivariumsvivaria Sat 14-Dec-19 12:28:59

A lot of the comedians they have on are woke.

I'm struggling to think of a female comedian who isn't woke. Or at least, one who has stated publicly anything other than TWAW.

Childrenofthestones Sat 14-Dec-19 12:33:11

"TRAs are now calling Last Leg transphobic for not nominating Glinner. They're apparently 'playing into hateful rhetoric' and 'throwing trans people under the bus'"

Would they fit?

thenightsky Sat 14-Dec-19 14:04:51

The other thing that struck me whilst watching, and not for the first time, is what a crying shame it is that Rory Stewart didn’t win the Tory leadership contest.

That's what me and DH were both saying too sad

ScrimshawTheSecond Sat 14-Dec-19 14:10:00

If you don't do precisely as TRAs demand, you are transphobic. It no longer holds any weight whatsover as a term, which is a bit unfortunate as there certainly are instances of real transphobia out there in the world, but people are less inclined to listen or take the accusations seriously now, as 'transphobia' is shaken about all over the place like woke glitter.

TiredofthisBS Sat 14-Dec-19 14:13:25

It's the boy who cried wolf scenario, Scrimshaw. The more TRA accuse people of it the less effective it becomes.

TheProdigalKittensReturn Sat 14-Dec-19 14:17:40

Soon the fear of being labelled transphobic will be replaced with eye rolling and yes of course it is dear.

I've been there for years now tbh. Turns out that when people say "listen to transwomen!" and you do that's one of the possible results.

" Are they going to give the award to Prince Andrew"

it will be very hard to beat him
