Very interesting discussion at the sixty-third session of the Commission on the Status of Women last week, especially the presentation by the paediatrician (about 25 minutes in). I'm an atheist so can't agree with them on every point, but they've got most of it right. Glad it's being talked about at such a high level.

It comes to something though when as a life long far left voting atheist I find myself having more in agreement with the Holy See than any of our political parties!

Thank you for highlighting this. I think as British feminists we all ought to be more aware of UN campaigns and terminology (and I probably don't even have that terminology right!). It's got to be useful in debates, to be able to reach easily for well-researched international data, or global declarations of rights. Single-sex toilets, for example.
