Was just reading this on Facebook. Shameful. Hope they find out who leaked.....but sadly I imagine that won’t happen.

UpstartCrow · 03/04/2018 12:36

Someone handed them that info.

ReappearingWoman · 03/04/2018 12:36

Disappointing on many levels - they're being 'humoured' & 'managed' reading between the lines. No mention of what Butler has said in the meeting or what else she intends to do with their representations to her. Ignore them completely I'm guessing.

The only thing I think will make any difference to these politicians who ignore reasoned arguments & continue with faith based mantras are losing votes.

This needs to go mainstream & people need to know what they're sleep walking into because these politicians aren't interested in women's rights & concerns

ReappearingWoman · 03/04/2018 12:37

And yes, the leak shows just how serious Butler took their concerns. After being told about the abuse, harassment, threats & violence. Sickening.

TerfsUp · 03/04/2018 12:40

It's the Labour Party. They don't give a toss about women - it's all about the yoof vote.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 03/04/2018 12:40

This is sickening and needs to be picked up by the press.
Would Hadley Freeman or the guy from The Spectator (James?) be interested in this?

UpstartCrow · 03/04/2018 12:46

Can someone from Woman's Place ask Dawn Butler how the info was leaked?

Popchyk · 03/04/2018 16:03

Were the names leaked though? I know Linda Bellos was mentioned as one of them but that might have been because LB perhaps mentioned it elsewhere.

Or is Pink News just talking bollocks as usual?

I can't imagine Pink News actually having the names and not publishing all of them. They are not an outlet that practises restraint.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 03/04/2018 16:10

The haters gotta hate….

ReappearingWoman · 03/04/2018 16:36

I think following the targeted harassment of some on SM might give an idea as to whose names were leaked. I have my suspicions but won't repeat as I'm not looking to draw attention to anyone whose name hasn't been confirmed openly (yet).

It's frankly atrocious that a meeting with a shadow minister has been handled in this way, especially given the threats against people & their employment, the harassment & intimidation, and of course the violence, both threatened & acted upon. The Labour Party are not oblivious to what's going on, and this outcome from a meeting with a shadow minister is appalling.

Popchyk · 03/04/2018 16:47

Well, at least Dawn Butler cannot deny the bullying, intimidation and harassment that is going on towards women now. This is evidence of just that.

And David Davies under investigation by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards for hosting a meeting about women's concerns in the House of Commons.

Shameful bully-boy tactics.

How can anybody say that there is no harassment and intimidation of women trying to discuss issues that affect women?

RedToothBrush · 03/04/2018 16:51

Well, at least Dawn Butler cannot deny the bullying, intimidation and harassment that is going on towards women now. This is evidence of just that.

You are watching the news this week about how Labour are doing lots of denying about something which is completely obvious to those complaining about it.

I wouldn't be so quick as to say that Dawn won't deny it. In fact I very much expect her to do exactly that.

Ffs, that statement is damning. I wonder if the office of a person with a fixed standpoint and diametrically opposite to the women attending the meeting would have anything to gain from leaking information?

Popchyk · 03/04/2018 17:01

I think Dawn has had a fair bit of abuse herself for even meeting with women (which is just so hateful of course).

I think in Dawn's mind she can avoid the abuse by not meeting with women again. Labour logic.

I'm not sure that Dawn has considered that when all this goes tits up in the Labour Party, she is the one that is in the line of fire.

Corbyn has said nothing about self-ID for ages and will say he trusted the women in the party and particularly the female Shadow Women and Equalities Minister Dawn Butler to get it right. Poor old Dawn will have to fall on her sword.

I don't think Dawn Butler is really clever enough to see that coming.

Elendon · 03/04/2018 17:14

Now Dawn Butler knows the low level people will go.

I get from this that she is also a target.

Elendon · 03/04/2018 17:18

Dawn Butler is not the brightest in the shadow cabinet, but that brightness is set to such a low bar; and she comes nowhere near it.
