Just that really, I am 42 and have PCOS. I struggle to loose weight. Tell me your positive stories of weight loss with PCOS and what made the difference for you. :-) I am feeling a bit demoralised at the moment. I have been slowly loosing weight since May, gluten free, low sugar, low dairy... cutting it out slowly and not eating too much. I have increased exercise, don the C25K... currently running 5k 3x a week and completed my first trail race event on Sunday. XXX

I have PCOS. I have ovarian cysts, hair like a gorilla (I'm only exaggerating a little!), diabetes, liver disease. I've been on Metformin for 10 years, give or take.

I've started to really try to lose weight for the first time recently. I was 18st 13 to start with. I'm down to 16st 8 now, and I'm on track to lose another stone in the next month.

I'm not exercising, really. I cycle to and from work but it's a very short distance so probably not making a difference. I'm counting calories, so eating about 1100-1200 a day. And very low carb; less than 20g. That's really helping with the diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressue and liver disease. I don't know if it's helping directly with the weight loss, but certainly, eating moderate protein and high fat (to replace the carbs) means I don't get terribly hungry, so I'm functioning well on two meals a day.

I'd really recommend having a read of the LCHF bootcamp forum here, it's a great way to kick start weight loss, and once you start seeing the weight falling off, it's very easy to stay motivated!
