Are Ikea wooden train tracks compatible with other types e.g. Brio?

I'm just wondering whether in true Ikea style they will be non-standard sizes!

Yes they are but they're more flimsy than other brands IME.

Yes I think they are. Why not take a piece of Brio along and see next time you go.

I looked into this and MN consensus was you sometimes have to force them together, so not ideal for little ones. In the end, we bought a lovely set from John Lewis which was great value and goes perfectly with Brio

They are compatible. The difference is that Brio are solid wood but with IKEA the connectors are plastic (which actually makes them more flexible as you can take them out and put them on different pieces).

We have both and they work together ok-ish but often the join isn't that great. However Ikea works well on its own and is loads cheaper than brio.

Yes they do work together. I actually prefer the Ikea track.

I didn't think the Ikea ones did? Tescos ones do though- we have loads!

Yes they are - but some Brio trains don't fit under Ikea bridges.
