Don't shoot me... What to wear for Venture photoshoot

Okay - just read all the threads on Venture (in a quest to see what to wear) and now feel sick. We got given a £205 voucher - 1 hour in studio and a 10*8 photo.

Kids beautiful, me and husband less so... I would like a pic of the 4 of us. Got tonnes of good pics of the kids but would like a nice portrait of us together.

So what clothes should we wear - should we be matchy matchy ? Any good arty ideas ? We have no hobbies or props - any ideas there...

Please help me :-)

No idea- but be warned.
Friend had this and the pics were crap- and the hard sell unbelievable.

I would just wear your favourite clothes that are the most "you" and that you feel good in. You want the pics to show you as you are, as a family, IYSWIM - not overly posed or glammed up.

Bet they're all swingers.
It could only be America- surely?

Make sure you take another £4,795 along with you

Ha Ha - serious suggestions please...

Though LOL. My pal's former partner had his dead wife photoshopped into a family portrait... Sick or what

Me and my sister wore jeans for our venture shoot years ago.

I really loved my Venture pictures - only problem was that we had them done with a 10 month old first child so they are rendered useless now (can't afford to get them done now there are five of us!)

We all wore jeans - DS was in denim dungarees with a white t-shirt underneath, I wore jeans and a green cardigan, DH wore jeans and a blue shirt.

Don't go formal (you will be barefoot) and I'd avoid prints or really bright colours. I would aim for complementary colours rather than matching but plain, plain, plain.

have a look at their gallery for inspiration here

We got one as a gift and had the whole debate about even going as we dont do photos normally - the shoot was actually good fun and we decided against taking our guinea pigs with us in the end. We were all casual in our jeans with bare feet as told when got there so had to swiftly pick black sock fluff out my claws , anyhows we got a good one of all 4 of us piled on top of each other and its quite natural as we were genuinly smiling at the time rather than forced. The hard sell day came and i made it clear we were picking the one and one only as were skint and they were ok about it and helped us pick the best one. Suppose different ones are different . Kids wore teeshirt/ hooded top , dh had a casual shirt on and me a nice fitted t shirt type top (tescos finest!)

We had (non-venture) photos done when DD was 9mo, the photographer suggested jeans and black tops, which worked well. Jeans and white tops potentially good too, just as long as you're not planning to stand in boxes.

When you go to venture you do all stand in a white box.

We were advised NOT to wear white/creams as you'll just blend in with the background. We didnt buy anything new but I just chose colours from the same sort of palette (autumnal-ish). I would avoid matchy matchy stuff!
The pics were v good and despite going in thiking we'll stick with the free gift thanks very much we still forked out!!

We had 2 x photoshoots (non Venture) and dh & I wore white shirts and jeans, and ds (1 and 18mths at time) wore white t shirt and blue trousers. With white backgrounds, and the fact that we are blue eyed and fair haired, they looked nice, esp the black and white ones. Simple colours maybe better, nothing fussy and dating.
