lala sometimes called metamorphic furniture it's something which can be turned into something as part of the design, so a sofa that pulls out to become a bed, a stool that unfolds into a set of steps.

Lots of natural light.

Our last house had a wonderful bay window. Property one you could walk into. This one just has a bowed window so flat wall, but window pokes out in a curve. The full bay was better. And I want another one! But I also like having windows on more than 1 wall. 3 if possible.

I like grey. I like family photos. I like art of any size. I like books on bookshelves with little meaningful trinkets in front of them. I like space for children to play. I like gardens. I like rooms to be used. No matter what for - I'm gonna get rid of my study because I work in the lounge. And turn it into a utility room. So my washer can come out of my dining room. No matter how I try to hide it in cabinetry. Some really nice cabinetry. I know it is still a washing machine and it needs to go!

Colour. Big soft sofas. Big windows. Light. Family photos. The feeling that everyone's welcome and I'm not terrified of spilling - because once that fear is there my clumsiness ramps up and it's inevitable.

Big lamps
Plump sofas with plenty of throws and cushions
Sisal / natural carpets
Pale grey marble kitchen counters
Mediterranean painted kitchen tiles, used in small doses
White bed linen
Built in alcove cupboards
Gallery walls
High ceilings
Wood floors
Velux windows
Roman blinds
Real wood furniture
A garden with mature shrubbery - nothing too minimalist
