I have two girls who are both interested in going to boarding school next year. One year 10 and one year 12. We need them
To be close to an international airport, well no more than an hour away. We have seen a few and they both like Clifton college. Does anyone have any opinions on this school? Or others? They both want mixed. Thanks in advance.

Also, we went to see mill field and all felt it wasn’t a good fit (too much sport competition)

I look forward to hearing opinions in these two schools for my DD 6th form for 2020 Millfield or Clifton? Appreciation for your time in advance.

I am not sure what the OP and the new poster have decided, but I would look at safeguarding - there have been several issues at Clifton which are particularly concerning for boarders. This would over-ride any concerns about a school being too sporty imho.

Have you considered Holyport College? It's only 20 minutes drive from Heathrow if you need a school close to an international airport.

the safeguarding references are probably about these events.

However, any school that doesn't have a similar event or two in their history of the last few decades might just not have found the skeletons yet. the thing to judge is how they talk about it now. I don't know anything about the school as a school.

My understanding is that new procedures have been put in place since the events in the article listed by the above poster and a new Head was put in place.
But monitoring may still leave something to be desired. See the 2019 article here www.thetimes.co.uk/article/top-school-clifton-college-hired-staff-unchecked-dqlr0rcg9
