Has anyone fallen pregnant while they have polycystic ovaries? I'm having to go for tests to see if I have this, however have been TTC. Any one experienced this and can give me any insight. I'm so worried I won't be able to have any more kids.

TIA

Yes, and there were serious issues on his side as well (we'd been told we had no chance without IVF). Clomid was largely ineffective, we gave up trying then it happened around three years after beginning TTC.

Some people get put on metformin (diabetes drug), to help with the metabolic issues at the root of PCOS, even if blood sugar levels are within "normal" limits.

For similar reasons, a low carb diet might be worth looking into if you would prefer to avoid medication.

Both the above "treatments" should improve insulin sensitivity, and help with the PCOS Smile

What makes you think you've got PCOS OP? Try not to stress and wait for any results :) I have "borderline" pcos apparently and suffer with endometriosis too. We were starting ivf proceedings when I naturally conceived. It took two years. I do worry about when to start trying for our second incase it takes a long time again (if it all) :(

I did. I had tests for PCOS before we married. I asked the consultant if it would affect our chances and he said "some people have problems, some don't, you'll just have to suck it and see..." NOT JOKING! I had a MMC, chemical and a successful pregnancy in the space of 9 months. Losing weight helped.

I have PCOS and have an almost 7 year old conceived completely accidentally while on the pill! This was only a few months after I was told by doctors that I would never conceive without IVF so don't panic too much yet :)

MissBax ... I hadn't come on my period for 4 months, had some pregnancy symptoms but pregnancy test came back not pregnant, I was so sure I was so I booked an appointment at the doctors. I have a brain condition so if I was to fall pregnant then I'd have to be watched by the doctor and hospital closely as I could have a stroke (at 25 years old this is not news a woman wants to hear, but with taking Aspirin and possibly having blood thinning injections I will be fine). So I booked an appointment at my doctors and he told me I could either have an under active thyroid or PCOS, my blood tests came back fine for under active thyroid and I'm just waiting for an appointment to have a scan to see if I have PCOS. When I was diagnosed with my brain condition I didn't know anything about it so joined a few Facebook support groups and found that having this condition and PCOS is very common and is usually connected. I already have a son that I had before I got all my health problems and I am blessed beyond belief, but would love him to have a brother or sister (he really wants one too). When seeing friends of mine having babies now I'm getting so jealous which I have only been like since being told I may have PCOS, feel so bad.

Thank you girls, you have all given me hope, I shall also join the PCOS thread :)

Sorry this is long lol
