AIBU?

To not lend anything to DH's family again?

I don't trust them. I really, really look after my stuff and they don't seem to apply the same care, even if it's not theirs. DH's sister borrowed our tent and lost bits of it and all we got was 'I'm sure it was like that before' (it wasn't). His brother borrowed a load of baby stuff and my absolute favourite, expensive Grobag has come back like a grey rag (it was white). My fault for lending it out, I suppose... thought I was being helpful. (There's been no reciprocal offer of lending us baby clothes, even though we could really do with some as they have two boys and we've only had a girl before)

DH lent his sister something of mine the other day and I'm really not happy about it as I don't trust it'll come back in one piece. We've asked for it back and just got 'well I've not finished with it yet, when does she need it?' I feel like that's not the point - it's mine and I want it back! (Plus I have morning sickness and need to use it for work whenever I have a 5 min window of feeling ok, which is unpredictable) DH has apologised for giving it to her and won't do it again.

AIBU for saying that's it, not lending anything to his family again?

Obviously it works both ways and I wouldn't ask to borrow anything either!

YANBU and SIL is a CF who would be getting told to return the item now.

DH is not good at confrontation or being insistent.... he quite often doesn't realise how cheeky something is until I point it out to him. Then of course they all think I'm a crazy wife who tells him what to do (I don't at all) and I don't get taken seriously. Grrr.

Just say you need it back tomorrow.

I never borrow from anyone nor do I lend people my things. Don't tell them what you have and don't have.

The mind boggles.

YANBU, they are though! I would suggest them leaving it outside their house at a designated time and collect it. In the normal run of things l would demand the CF’s bring it back but they will use restrictions to stall

Haha @StCharlotte it's a piece of specialist equipment I need to use to make promo videos for work - nothing dodgy I promise!
