OMG! The funniest thing I've seen for ages is the kids surprise interruption of a VERY SERIOUS interview on the BBC. Have a look for the stressed mum's entrance!

I don't know how to link it but look on BBC news video.

I don't think it's the mum, I think it's a nanny, as the kids don't look mixed race.

At first I found it really funny but the more I watch it, how cold was the dad?! I understand he's live on tv but I think he's made himself look like bit of a dick! Why didn't he just pick up the toddler rather than literally bat her away?? Stage fright I guess

There are several threads running on this. The woman IS the children's mother.

I think the kids do look mixed-race! Another thread is saying he's got a blog and the pics of him with his family show the same woman and that she's his wife. I haven't looked myself, admittedly.

Anyway, it's very funny. Poor woman, skidding in. grin I don't think the dad looks 'cold'; and it wouldn't be very professional to sit the kid on his knee while talking about diplomacy in Korea or whatever. Presumably he knew the woman would come to his rescue and it was just a matter of time.

I can't stop watching it. I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall afterwards! grin

There's a link on the other three threads about this if someone can't find it grin

And it's the mum not a nanny (every thread is arguing about that grin)

And you can't conduct a serious interview with a child on your lap - I don't imagine she would have sat there quietly

And here

And here

I found it funny, not sad. I'm sure he's a lovely dad, that's just the instant reaction he had while he's on live TV.

It's the little dalek baby sliding in that cracks me up!

Ta Sparklingbrook and Livia...
I didn't know there were other threads. Sorry if I've stepped on someone's toes.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta Fri 10-Mar-17 18:02:42

Not stepping on toes

But every thread is practically identical:

Arguing whether the woman is the mother or nanny

Laughing at the supposedly hilariousness of it all

Concern that the child was mishandled

Man10 Fri 10-Mar-17 18:06:40

My favourite bit is the expression on the wife's face as she bursts through the door. (Though the dancing walk of the first child isn't bad.)

cathf Fri 10-Mar-17 18:09:54

LOL at some of the posters on those other threads. They sound like the type of parents who think everyone is charmed by their children misbehaving in restaurants too.

thatdearoctopus Fri 10-Mar-17 18:22:20

I laughed out loud when I saw it. You can just imagine the wife idly thinking, "Where have the kids gone? ........... Shiiiiiiiiiiittttt!!!!"

That Tom & Jerry skid as she arrives in the room to hoik them out! grin

honeyroar Fri 10-Mar-17 18:25:16

I think the dad was like a deer in headlights, not knowing what to do, continually apologising, thinking he'd just blown his career! Ironically his child was quieter in the room than outside it.

glitterglitters Fri 10-Mar-17 18:31:46

TBH I think he did well. He tries not to laugh and tbf he's probably going to be the butt of a lot of jokes in his field now. Kids will be kids and kudos to the mum for her rescue attempt! My dad did a similar type of area of specialism which meant he would occasionally get interviewed for news channels and (thankfully it was pre the ease of internet streaming to do such a thing) I'd have had a lot worse if I had done that!
