Grocery delivery - how late before complaining

I have a few minutes before my grocery delivery is going to be late. I have somewhere to be which means if they are late I will be late as I still need to put shopping away before I leave. (Luckily dp is here so not a problem today though he was coming too but if her was'nt then it woukd be a problem).
How long is reasonable to complain giving I had a two hour slot.

I'd give them 15 minutes then phone to see if they can find out where they are. Could be all sort of reasons they are late however no harm in chasing them up.

I call after a few minutes and get my delivery charge refunded. Every time they miss the slot and it's not for something obvious like snow or torrential weather.

Depends...

I've had ocado call me 15min before end of slot and apologise to tell me they will be 10min late... No problem as far as I'm concerned.

The other week waitrose were 10min late, and I hadn't heard anything... So I called customer services who said nothing was on their system and would get the branch to call immediately...

45 min later my shopping turned up, driver blamed the store. Ten min after that the store rang. They blamed driver and got the distinct impression she didn't give a toss.

By this point I was really cross as the ingredients for dinner were in the delivery and it was now 9pm!

So in the morning I wrote and complained on the basis of poor service, would have expected better from a company with such a good rep etc.

Didn't heat back for 2 days. So I complained on their Facebook page and was sent an apology and £15 off my next shop. :)

My last ocado delivery was over an hour late, I sat there like a lemon for 2hours waiting for it to turn up. I didn't even get so much as a call from the store or driver to apologise/let me know it was going to be late.

Wish I had complained now! Won't be using them again.

My favourite topic...my shopping deliveries are almost always late. I complain after 5 mins to get the delivery charge refunded. If they are much later, I complain again to get money off my next shop - £40 so far Grin

But that's me, and I'm a moany old cow Wink I'm actually disappointed on the rare occassions the delivery arrives within the time slot.

Mine tend to come early. Once we were out when they arrived early, but they didn't wait, just left a note!

They do fall overthemselves to refund you when you call to complain about anything though.
