I can’t help it. I’ve tried. I’ve tried not to like them but I can’t help it. They just make me laugh and I love their friendship. Interesting to hear them talking about the personal stuff with Ants rehab etc.

However the end of the programme was pretty predictable. We’re all related somehow aren’t we? 😏

I know what you mean, I try not to but can't help but love them. Thought it was a great programme. Knew they would be related. 🙂

I've had a massive crush on Ant since 1994. It still endures, I can't help it.

My musical tastes have matured with me but alas my teenage crush lives on.

I enjoyed it but was was very ITV manufactured drama on places.

They both had a particular piece of DNA from way back. Idon't think that makes them close relatives.

We share DNA with bananas don’t we and everything is linked somehow.

I know I’m cynical but it just seemed like one huge advert for the DNA company sponsoring the program put out just in time for the Christmas market.......Hmm

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it very interesting. It was a strange mix of Long Lost Family and Who Do you Think you Are. I’m a Celebrity is about to start,I imagine the ratings will be really good as ever.

I have just read that they have the same DNA marker from a Viking warrior.

That was over 1000 years ago. Many many generations. The chances of 2 people in the UK having the same DNA marker is very very high.

I was watching some old footage of them winning an award together and Ants wife called him back to wipe his face like a child, and it really struck me, he must have been so unhappy.

We dont really know what goes on in anyone's relationship but it must be so so hard for anyone in the public eye to be in a bad relationship. The stress was probably awful on everyone.
Ant and Dec had to keep going to work and being happy and jokey because that was thier job which made it even harder I imagine.

What an awful situation they were in.
They look to have a really strong friendship.

Yes, a massive plug for the ancestry (forgotten the name) company!
Only watched the first one, it was okay but I’m not actually interested in genealogy so I found it quite boring Blush

Lots of people sending their spit off in the post in the New Year! Grin

A total ruse to encourage more shmucks to enter their DNA into a database for future misuse! Lovely.

I was dissapointed with the programme.
I really enjoy "Who do you think you are" as I find it's more about the celebs ancestors than the celebs themselves IYKWIM.
The link between historical events and the social impact of these events on normal folk, bring the history alive to me and puts some flesh on the bones of people long gone.

A and D's prog just told us a bit more about them rather than their ancestors and was one of those programmes that made me feel that the folk making it were having a better time than those watching it.
I read somewhere today that the programme was a masterclass in reputation salvation.

That said, I do like A and D and find them quite entertaining.

I watched both episodes today and really enjoyed them. I was surprised how low-key the announcement that the boys were related was though. More reaction from them would have been nice.

She’s a make up artist. Presumably she was neatening him up for the cameras. It’s her job.

@ Doubleraspberry I know what you mean, but this wasnt like that a make up touch up at all, she was using her hand and they were sitting in the audience. Although I must rewatch the clip now that you have said that, you might be right!
I know we have no idea what went on in the relationship, I'm just saying it must be very hard to be in the public eye when you are in a bad relationship. For both of them.

Anyway I hope they are all happier now.

Wouldn't be good if we got our DNA done and we were all related to Ant and Dec. I feel a letter coming on.

I watched it last night. Really enjoyed it. The part where the lady in the pub starts singing a random song & Dec says that was sung at my Dads funeral Sad Please tell me that was real & not manufactured drama.

"Tarscout "what is the DD incident?

Report
Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2019 09:53

Assuming 'drink driving'.

Report
Doubleraspberry · 13/11/2019 09:57

I wouldn’t assume any scene on a programme like this is real, sorry. They’re produced to within an inch of their lives, and ITV has a huge stake in reinforcing the Ant and Dec brand.
