Those who have ordered in their meals from these places in the past, can you recommend favourites please?
Other festive meal suggestions would be great.

Also, I like to be nosy at what others put together for their menus.

The cook one looked amazing last year but It sold out really quickly I am going to try earlier this year.

TheLazyChef · 09/10/2021 08:58

Which one do you mean @ThisIsStartingToBoreMe?
Are you talking about the bundles for 8 / 12 etc?

Also, how quickly is quickly?

Oops. Posted to soon.

I meant to ask what you went for instead, as Cook had sold out?

We get ours from Donald Russell.

TheLazyChef · 09/10/2021 18:09

I haven't seen those @HazieDazie, I'll take a look.

Do they have the whole dinner to order in? Desserts? Canapes? Etc

@TheLazyChef they do indeed, their food is absolutely delicious!

It’s delivered frozen and the quality of their meats is fantastic,.

We've had Cook for the last three Christmases. Can heartily recommend! I meant to try m&s last year but they didn't seem to do anything for two, just the giant entertaining sizes. The thing I like about Cook is being able to buy it in November and wang everything in the freezer - job done! Hate the scrummage in the shops in the few days running up to Christmas Day.

TheLazyChef · 10/10/2021 07:29

@WildWombat - any favourites that you would recommend?

The thing that puts me off a frozen or pre-prepared one is the reheating possibilities. They often say they can't be reheated once cooked, but days of leftovers are our favourite part Blush

Any thoughts?

Pieminister usually have a great range of Christmas pies. This is what they had last year pieminister.co.uk/christmas-new-noel/

The only thing I will say is make your own roasties. I didn’t like the Cook or M&S ones.

Cook is really good. The stuffed thigh was delicious, and the gravy was so good I’m going to buy gallons this year and have it all year round!

ThisIsStartingToBoreMe · 10/10/2021 09:23

Just managed to order the cook xmas dinner for two!!!

Like a PP said, it's nice not to have to rummage around trying to buy everything.

I've also got a small order at M and S for other goodies and an order with Farmisan - i'll be ok till end of January at this rate!

WildWombat · 10/10/2021 09:32

We normally get the bundle for two, and a make a pudding from scratch myself. I second the comment about the gravy - yum! The sprouts are good too.
