Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Isn’t AGP also what every woman experiences when they get dressed up & feel good about themselves?

I have no agenda here. I’ve always just been interested in exploring other perspectives of debates…although I’m sure this particular thought will get flamed on here and end up very one-sided indeed 🤣
I don’t believe every trans woman has AGP, but I believe a significant proportion do. And I’ve always considered that proportion to be creepy, I feel anger at the fact these men get to walk around, at least in some circles, socially accepted as women, just so they can satisfy a sexual fetish. However, I was thinking about how I feel as a woman who’s comfortable and happy about being a woman when I get dressed up in my favourite sexy outfit and put on some makeup. It makes me feel sexy. Not sexually aroused but I do feel sexy. Is that vastly different to what a trans woman feels like when they get dressed up and look (at least in their eyes) like a woman? Could it be that it’s either not AGP and we all feel sexy when we know we look good as the gender we are or want to be…or everyone’s a bit AGP when they think they look sexy because they therefore feel sexy? Or is this a totally unoriginal thought that’s already been troped out by TRAs and actually there is a huge difference??

"Or is this a totally unoriginal thought that’s already been troped out by TRAs and actually there is a huge difference??" - this one.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 20/01/2026 11:10

No. I am not turned on by myself. HTH

IrnBruAndDietCoke · 20/01/2026 11:12

Only if you’re an ancient Greek daffodil.

Greyskybluesky · 20/01/2026 11:12

You do not have the first clue what AGP actually is. Maybe start there. It is not about "feeling sexy".

Moffett · 20/01/2026 11:13

Erm, no.

If I get dressed up and do my hair/make up I might think 'I look nice, this would be a good PFP', and maybe snap a selfie and the extent of me feeling good would be elevated confidence.

AGPs masturbate over themselves/film themselves masturbating.

Most women do not get sexually turned on by their own reflection.

lifeturnsonadime · 20/01/2026 11:16

Definitely NO,

AGP is a kink not feeling good about yourself.

MyThreeWords · 20/01/2026 11:16

Not sexually aroused but I do feel sexy.

But a person with AGP does feel sexually aroused - by the idea and sight of themselves as a woman.

Insofar as I would feel 'sexy' if I looked good, it would simply be that it made me feel relaxed and confident enough to be in the zone where I could become aroused by my sexual partner, or interact with someone in the ways that constitute a preliminary for possibly going on towards sex.

That is a world away from actually being aroused by my own body. Lots of men (not just AGP men) do seem to have the grotesque fantasy that women are aroused by their own bodies. Hence all the crap novel writing that has women fixating on their own breasts etc. But that is because men keep forgetting the difference between being an actual person and being a projection of their own desires.

Of course there may be some women who are aroused by their own bodies. Women are allowed paraphilias too. But that is wholly different from saying that the experience of AGP is like the experience of being a woman. It is only saying that AGP is like some other kink.

borntobequiet · 20/01/2026 11:17

You “feeling sexy” is nothing like AGP, as others have pointed out already.

You are woefully uninformed about male sexuality.

Theboredpanda · 20/01/2026 11:17

Lol I knew these would be the responses. “No. Just no”. No explanation why. No ability to look at the nuances of this incredibly complex topic, no ability to consider that there may be some grey inbetween the black and white. No curiosity about differing perspectives out of fear it would challenge your hardcore beliefs because you simply cannot ever be wrong about anything 🙄

no of course it isn't

men with AGP get a hard on from dressing like a woman

personally I've never got the fanny gallops from putting on my pants

Shedmistress · 20/01/2026 11:18

I love Mary Kate. Especially her latest tweets where she gets Grok to put some smart clothes on these AGP men and gives them good haircuts.

Absolute chef's kiss.

Ok, when you dress up as a lady and go into the men's toilets and wank on the toilet paper and they hear you outside and leave the toilets in disgust, does that make you feel sexy? If not why not?

Waitwhat23 · 20/01/2026 11:22

not sexually aroused but I do feel sexy

And that's the difference. I might think 'ooh, I look good!' but I don't rush off to masturbate over my own image.

Because that's, well, a creepy sexual fetish.

There are explanations why. You just can't be bothered (are not capable of?) to read and understand them.

You don't understand AGP. Go and look it up. Don't expect women to do the work for you.

TheRozzers · 20/01/2026 11:22

No. For the same reason trans men don’t steal their dad’s Y fronts and masturbate wearing them. Biological women just aren’t wired that way.

Hah! I'd forgotten about the phrase fanny gallops!

HartSeven · 20/01/2026 11:23

Women feeling good about ourselves does not equal feeling like sex objects.
And if you switch that around, feeling you look like a sex object might lead to the opposite of feeling good.
