Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Anyone wanting to support greens but really stuck on their trans beliefs and policies?

I haven’t heard anything else that I disagree with, but I’m so disappointed by the outright ‘trans women are women statement’ and consequent policies. In my view this attitude doesn’t fit with the other green policies. Here we are saying that women are an unimportant subspecies, and that the wants of a very small number of trans identifying males trump the rights and needs of all the actual females.

How is anyone squaring this in their minds? Can you bring yourself to vote Green?

Amusingly, the Greens deputy leader objected to asylum seekers being housed in her constituency:

They're not just pathetic, they're hypocritical as well.

I have voted Green Party twice before - but open borders & trans policies have put me off voting for them again. The fact that Rachel Millward has written a letter saying that housing refugees in her constituency is unsafe is hypocritical.

She wants immigrants processed quicker - surely that will just mean more will keep coming? I think she wants immigrants to be welcome so long as it’s not near her.

No. Their gender woo is enough to put any rational person off. If they can believe that guff then nothing they put forward as a belief is trustworthy.

I know MN is quite pro drug use, but I also can’t get behind Zach’s gung-ho Legalise All Drugs policy.

I just want an eco party that focuses on the environment and sustainability.

They don't have any rational answers.

Fund everything by taxing the people who find it easiest to just move elsewhere.

End war by telling Vladimir Putin to be nice.

Green energy, but not in my back yard.

Honestly, it makes more sense to vote for Count Binface.

Yes, I agree. And frequently Count Binface, when elected, has turned out to be good as a councillor.

Count Binface ironically gets the issues...

Even if the gender woo wasn’t there….

open borders

leaving NATO

are red lines for anyone with half a brain. Progressive taxes, nationalising public services - love all that. But not enough to lose the country.

also other parties want those things…

A few things worry me about the Greens:

Polanski has implied that he will revert the high court judgement by changing the equality act to include transgender women, the judges would then interpret the law differently.

They want to campaign for the right of self-identification for trans and non-binary people.

They are very much in favour of hate crime legislation for the categories of trans people, Islamophobia etc.

They want to ban petrol and diesel cars.

They are against small scale nuclear reactors that I think are the best way to produce non carbon energy.

They want to legalise all drugs

They want to legislate to put landlords out of business through increased regulation and taxation

They are a lot further left than Labour but copy definitely come to power in a Left wing alliance.

How do you know that's what they want to do? I didn't think any party had an up-to-date manifesto out

thirdfiddle · 26/11/2025 23:53

I have a certain morbid curiosity as to how they would change the wording of the equality act.
You can't discriminate against someone on the basis of gender identity? They'd have to define gender identity. Properly, with words that can be examined in a court, which means not circular.

"No sir, I can't have discriminated on gender, I have no idea what it fucking means and I never even asked the complainant how they identify."

Wording? Words are a product of a binary colonial culture and are used to oppress. Words only have limited, fixed meanings and each word excludes millions of other meanings.

No, the Greens would use emoji.

Zack being interviewed by Evan Davies. Apparently his appointment as leader has energised Green Party membership with his easy solutions of less growth but more for everyone except the very wealthy.

Cos life is just that easy. Why hasn't anyone thought about it before in any era of humanity?

eatfigs · 28/11/2025 07:55

I would never vote for these party of cranks and it bothers me that their most hare-brained and offensive policies are described as left-wing.

This really made me laugh Grin They honestly do act like children playing make believe Hmm In their fantasy we're living in the Platonic Realm of Forms, rather than on this mucky little orb called earth!

They have a spectacular level of arrogance and tone deafness where they think they can magically achieve something that no one else in the entire history of the world has purely on the basic that they are culturally superior because they are 'modern progressives'. This is the same mentality that the British Imperialists had and it's not lost on me - they belong to the same social bubble but a century on.
