Anyone wanting to support greens but really stuck on their trans beliefs and policies?

I haven’t heard anything else that I disagree with, but I’m so disappointed by the outright ‘trans women are women statement’ and consequent policies. In my view this attitude doesn’t fit with the other green policies. Here we are saying that women are an unimportant subspecies, and that the wants of a very small number of trans identifying males trump the rights and needs of all the actual females.

How is anyone squaring this in their minds? Can you bring yourself to vote Green?

I would love there to be an ecological party that was not also science-denying and authoritarian. The Greens aren't it and don't even pretend to be it.

Yes. I'm a peak potential green voter but until they cut out their sexism I won't vote for them.

The Green Party in government will:

1. Implement a fair and humane system of managed immigration
2. Treat all migrants as if they are citizens
3. Give all residents the right to vote
4. Help families to be together
5. Dismantle the Home Office
6. Abolish the No Recourse to Public Funds condition
7. Abolish the ten year route to settlement
8. Stop the profiteering from application fees
9. Stop putting people in prison because of their immigration status
10. Accept our responsibility for the climate emergency and support the people forced to move

I don't think they are that hot on Green policies either.

When it comes to practical solutions, there doesn't seem to be much agreement.

They seem completely side tracked by the 'omni-cause' and occupying the space vacated by the squabbling left of labour factions.

They're not just pathetic, they're hypocritical as well.

Their position on sex and gender is a hard red line for me, which is a shame as many (not all, not by any means all!) of their other positions appeal to me greatly.

Agreed OP. They're great on everything but this in my opinion. My view is that they are not going to have any sway on this issue, the tide has turned.

So I'm GC but have joined and will campaign cos overall their policies and the positive impact they will have on women, as well as other stuff, far outweighs stupid statements about transwomen which don't actually reflects the party's politics and how female dominated it had always been.

Don't get me wrong, some candidates I would NEVER support but the more I've been involved the more normal I see most greens are and many are like us and are just putting up with TWAW until it blows over which it will.

Meantime though we do need this left wing and hopeful voice on everything else as the climate crisis, poverty and far right need tackling

I used to vote Green when I was young (and when the Green Party was about the environment).

i wouldn’t vote for them now. Aside from the gender stuff I don’t like many of their people… Zack Polanski creeps me out, especially after all the hypnotits nonsense. And Sian Berry is awful - I used to live a few doors away from her so have met her quite a few times - was so disappointed, she’s an idiot!

Barely talk about the environment these days. Demonstrate no understanding of how government works. Or many areas of science. Elected hypnotits as a leader. Anti women.

I'd love to have a proper left-wing environmental party to vote for, but the Greens are not it. I'm not sure they ever were, but they used to be close enough that I could overlook the madder stuff and vote to boost their environmental message and campaigning. Not any more.

I think that's a mature perspective, to kind of hold your nose and vote based on the majority of their policies - however I don't share your optimism that iit will blow over. The Greens courted young trans voters so hard for years, especially in Scotland, and the leadership seem so stubborn - I can't seem them climbing down from promoting self ID/TWAW. I'm a longtime Green and SNP voter who has regretfully switched to Labour. I know it's only policy of many and I don't like being a single issue voter - but I would feel like a turkey voting for Christmas. I think yours is a more balanced attitude though!

I truly don't understand anyone who votes green. It has always been a wasted vote. The only reason i can see to vote green, is to have a spoiled vote counted. I.e x number of people voted green, as a protest against the main parties. At least the vote is counted.

The green policies are generally ludicrously simplistic. It's the sort of stuff you see little kids saying on these TV programs. The greens are no different than the Monster Raving Looney party, with the notable exception that the MRL party, know they are being ridiculous.

Yes the support for drugs and surgery to 'cure' healthy people seems totally out of kilter with their other policies. The Greens and Big Pharma make an odd couple. Then the refusal to debate or even hear other views makes them seem a bit fanatical and intolerant.

It might be a pity but I'm guessing a lot of the support they're seeing in Polanski's honeymoon period will just drift back to Labour , which is edging away from gender ideology albeit slowly.

I know a prospective candidate and the trans policies are the most important to her by a long way. Forget the environment, she'd rather the world burned than concede that TWANW.

It has been reported that they also want to reduce funding for Police and cancel all drug restrictions. (Class As for all?). I believe this was from the Platform at their conference.

If someone told me that the oil companies had paid people to join the greens to discredit them I would be tempted to believe them
