Montgomery Toms has been arrested for wearing a sign showing the pink & blue stripes of trans=mental illness.

Arrested. What has happened to free speech in this country?

Seriously, a male person such as Richards being a candidate for a Labour Women's Officer role really sums up much of what posters on this thread have been trying to say. All while being censured by others who simply cannot see depth of harm these male people are causing to female people.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2025/07/08/trans-woman-womens-officer-labour/

https://archive.ph/Srf9L

"Richards told website LabourList: “I am legally female, other than in regards to the Equality Act and the Act does not apply to the position within LGBT+ Labour so I am thoroughly within my legal right and my moral right to be able to stand for this position.”"

"my moral right to be able to stand for this position."

Says a male person who has

-Organised a protest in front of a women's conference in Portsmouth which included male people overpowering the voices of women discussing their rapes, their assaults and their needs to assist them to heal. And where those same male people drew penises and messages such as 'suck my trans dick' for those women to walk over on their way out.

-Has in the past been an official spokesperson for a endometriosis charity. Including taking a female person's space on panels about that condition.

And who is currently trying to find ways to bypass the very clear Supreme Court judgement about single sex spaces.

If this is not mocking the very concept of what female people need, then I really don't think some people will ever be able to identify sexism and misogyny when they see it.

But apparently... there is nothing to discuss, just women who should accept being told to speak nicely about these male people and just be kind in general.

Oh look!

Here is an opportunity to go onto this thread and tell this male poster to stop directly intimidating a group of lesbians. Right there in plain sight!

After posting on their other thread about their march last weekend and intimidating them through reporting them to the police, and then threatening to turn up to counter protest them, that same poster is on this thread declaring that they support male people getting through security measures for a lesbian dating app.

Let's remember Sal Grover and Giggle are still going through court after years of this.

Lesbians have been complaining for years about their apps being flooded with male people and themselves being deleted from apps for declaring they are not interested in male people, just female people.

Is this misogyny? Or will it be dismissed as 'just a bad apple'?

All posters who want to censure women, please go ahead and tell this male poster that their posts are inappropriate. Maybe if you use the kind words and be nice about it, this male will listen? Worth a try don't you think?

Or is the intention only ever to censure women?

It is a tragedy that the pursuit of profit has harmed a generation of young people.

are we allowed to say it is an ideological cult that is harming young people?

A couple of years ago we wouldn't have been, but too much evidence has stacked up by now for the denials to be convincing.

It is heartbreaking.

Also, prior to 2020 I wouldn't have believed possible degree of ideological capture we now see in institutions that are not only supposed to be non-ideological, but paragons of objectivity and empiricism. This is what has most badly shocked, disheartened and alarmed me about GI madness.

😭😭 GOOD

Okay, youre not pro trans. Why come to pride and try to make people feel bad

Also, note, Palestinian activists were arrested for simply asking for the genocide to stop. That's something worth being upset about.

It's a totally legitimate thing to do given that there are gays (esp lesbians) who are uncomfortable with people (esp men) hiding their sex behind their chosen gender

So many claims like this are made. Unless you can point to actual studies?

"according to scientists"

i'm not sure there are air quotes big enough for this statement

But what is gender identity? How would a social construct influence anything in utero? You cannot be born in the wrong body, that doesn’t make any sense.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 11/07/2025 13:48

i wonder why pregnant Barbie’s load of mince got deleted? If genderists want to go around spouting nonsense I’m all for amplifying them frankly

I wanted to see the 'recent research'. One suspects that Barbie may have reported themself

Helleofabore · 11/07/2025 14:19

If I remember correctly, the post was about hormone washes.

Yet, the only commonality all transgender people share is their philosophical belief which is one that is not reflective of the material reality of their own bodies. There have been no biological or neurological markers discovered with over decades of research. Some people have this view that maybe, just a slim chance, that something will be discovered in the future, so therefore we have to act as if we will find something. Just in case. People don’t want to be caught out being on the wrong side of history.

And having a transgender identity doesn’t rely on anyone feeling they are ‘in the wrong body’. Plus nobody can be logically born in the ‘wrong
body’.

It is surprising to see this keep coming up on threads.

So Mumsnet have lost the thread that you have linked to. No note currently saying that it has been deleted or hidden.

I hope they find it again during their 'fish down the back of the sofa cushions', as there were posts that I hadn't read yet. Sigh.

Holy shit you are right, it's disappeared from my "I'm On" list so not just a typo in the URL.

Hopefully a tech blip and it will either come back or we'll get a clear deletion message.

But overall given the uptick in angry men visting to verbally abuse or belittle women I think we are going to have to start screenshooting these egregious posts. It's too easy for malicious participants to corrupt threads so badly MN just nukes them rather than risk online harm sanctions.

Fucking ironic innit. If they abuse women badly enough MN ends up having to delete the proof least MN itself be sanctioned for it.

murasaki · 11/07/2025 15:33

So not only is it very hard for lesbians to have their own space, they're not even allowed to talk about said space. On a feminism board. That is disappointing.

If it was deleted for valid reasons, it should say so in a deletion message like many other threads, not just get disappeared like it was shunted off to the gulag.

And of course even if there is a cast iron future discovery that proves some male people really do have a "female" self image/mindset (whatever the hell that is!) so what?

"Woman" was never a name for a type of mind, it was always a name for a type of body. Regardless of what is going on in your mind, your body is still a material fact in the world that others react to. A body type that "trans women" do not have.

The history of women is the history of that body type. The oppression of women by Patriarchy is the oppression of that body type. The rights, protections and opportunities that are reserved for women exist to counteract the abuse and marginalisation they face because of their body type.

A male person's self image as a "woman", even if it is genuinely felt because of some sort of biological cause, is still not the same thing as being female bodied, and therefore still not a justification for treating trans women as in any practical or legal way closer to actual women than any other man.

I am 5'10. If something in my mind misfired to make me genuinely feel 5'1 that might be my truth but I'd still bump my head on low doors and still not fit petite clothes, and actual petite people would have every right to be pissed off if a Trans Height movement demanded all petite clothing be resized to fit tall people because they might genuinely feel short on the inside.

Possibly referring to a recent twin study from Nature.

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-025-06265-6

'These findings suggest a substantial genetic contribution to gender diversity.'

The thing that jumped out at me from a quick skim was:

'Gender identity
A standardised two-step process, which did not require a detailed gender history, was used to determine gender identity25. This involved each individual recording both their gender identity and sex assigned at birth, as considered best practice by the Australian Bureau of Statistics26. Participants entered these data both for themselves and on behalf of their twin'.

Hmmm.

Seems slightly odd that they are using data acquired by asking someone to define someone else's 'gender identity'?

I couldn't find more info on the process or methodology, the reference links to a paper that's not open to read.

I think that the male person who showed just how much he hates women killed the thread. It was clear that he had decided that no lesbians could have a space that didn’t include him. But apparently that group of male people are not misogynistic at all!!!

The other thing about that thread was that there was a post by that poster that MNHQ edited out a word that would have caused the post to be deleted. I thought they were trying to keep the thread from being pulled.

Indeed Flirts. Whereas years ago, the discovery have meant something. Now, it really is irrelevant.

Helleofabore · 11/07/2025 23:50

Sorry, the reason it is irrelevant is that the knowledge that we now have and the clarity we have about what constitutes a ‘woman’ or not. The fact that we can articulate that it is a body formed around the production of large gametes, regardless is the whether the body produces those large gametes now, has in the past or will in the future.

And the depth of understanding so many of us have developed about our lived experiences vs those of any male person. The clear articulation of what is and isn’t a woman makes the finding of any biological reason irrelevant. Because the discovery in not likely to change the point that no male person can be a women.

Enough4me · 12/07/2025 08:23

People ask, "what came first the chicken or the egg?"
We should go back to the first microscopic genetic material. Survival came first. It needed to multiply to continue to exist. Cells group for tissues, tissues form organs.
Having two sexual forms allows for crossing over of genetic information for natural selection to adapt to change. Adaptation didn't create three forms as dimorphic beings have the ability to keep genetic material going.
The two human forms are different due to the advantages the forms provide for sexual reproduction.
Delusion cannot beat evolution.
