NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #8

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on Thursday 6 February.

Can someone ask NC to ask him about his hospital's / the NHS's policies on dignity and privacy?
Does he respect his patients' D&P?

I don't think that's true necessarily. If a midwife is the only person present at the birth and makes the decision, then it's still going to stand.

NC - in last few pages of 1984 novel, torturer holds up 4 fingers and forces Winston to say he can see 5. Utlimate submission and humiliation is to affirm something he and torturer know to be false. Your demand of SP is of the same sort. Demand she submit to you by pretending to think you're a woman, even though you know that's false.

But at the same time, the DC have a previous, now gender fluid, friend who I think genuinely doesn’t understand how the entire world sees them as male. They truly seem to believe that earrings or clothes might make someone else think they’re female. I suspect it’s their ASD contributing to an inability to see themselves from someone else’s perspective. In this case though, the friend is a nice person.
