Don't be so silly. I doubt even you believe that. It's a massive cock up of course, no doubt about it. But even if you think the lyrics are ok (which I really doubt anybody in the Labour party would) anybody educated would know that it isn't the kind of thing you would use in a political communication. I am not a great supporter of the Labour Party and they have a poor record on women's issues but this particular thing can only have been a really stupid (and sackable) mistake rather than deliberate.

I bet you really enjoyed sharing it though OP. And you slipped in the thing about the Rotherham enquiry at the same time too. Good work. The Conservatives were so much better weren't they. Managed the economy well, improved things for women and no cock ups eh?

It may well be simply massive incompetence, but your reference to the Conservatives reminds me of so many I've seen elsewhere and I say the same to each one.

Saying "but someone else did bad things too" is NOT a good response to the rape of children. If you can't see how awful that argument is then ask someone you trust what they think.

Ha ha, yes! Arabella

Eunuch innit.

Glad it's not just me who was wondering about the bulldog's lack of genitals.

They were just arsing around, weren't they.

Just like Ian Duncan Smith's benefit reforms never left the back of a fag packet during the Conservative's wilderness years.

🤷‍♀️

One day he’s a male bull dog. The next day she’s a female bulldog. And That’s Ok. He / She / They have an police force approved identity card to match each persona.

And there was me innocently wondering about the front paws.

Of a sort I never saw on any dog ever.

Mind like the driven snow, me.

In that case do not look at the hares hands as he/she crosses their arms.

Sasskitty · 06/01/2025 18:51

I think it’s wearing a nappy. Covers all eventualities. So to speak.

I assumed hare, because the accompanying text is 'you'll be seen sooner by our NHS' and I thought they were trying to have the roles assume the traits of the animals - owl/wise/teacher, hare/speed/NHS. Falls apart depicting politicians as lions!

Weasel?

A nappy? I thought police dog person had been crossed with the dodgy Christmas Turkey much discussed on another board.

This is what I find myself thinking about pretty much everything Labour are doing now. They had fourteen fucking years to bounce everything around between them, to think things through, to work out what was needed, what was a priority and what was a nice-to-have, to find out what they didn't know, to make decisions! Instead it's all 'we have a plan' or 'let's kick it into the long grass/2028'. They are so fucking frustrating/incompetent. (delete as applicable)

larklane17 · 06/01/2025 20:27

Pretty well copied from this thread imo.

The Spectator, Telegraph and Express are running with it also.

I hope the OP got a byline.

JanesLittleGirl · 06/01/2025 20:48

OK so pure derailment here. There have been suggestions that the present government is either left wing or right wing. I think that they are actually wingless as nothing that they do manages to fly. They do have another 4 years to change this.

ArabellaScott · 06/01/2025 21:17

I don't know if they do, Jane.

JanesLittleGirl · 06/01/2025 21:19

I'm feeling kind and giving them the benefit.

I think the odds are more in Starmer’s favour than they might be due to the lack of apparent alternative.

Hm. What happens if voters decide "a plague on both your houses" and go for the, ahem, untried option.

larklane17 · 06/01/2025 21:46

If only the spectre of Michael Foot had visited Starmer over Christmas and shown him his future.

BlackForestCake · 06/01/2025 21:48

Funny you mention Michael Foot. When he was leader Labour could get reasonably big stars of the day like Paul Weller and Tracey Ullman to endorse them. Now they put out AI-generated slop.

Any contender needs 81 Labour MPs to nominate them before progressing.

OP posts:
SkiingonKaraSea · 06/01/2025 21:55

Sorry I see you mean Reform. Given the size of Labour’s majority, it is very unlikely there would be an early election. There would have to be a huge number of Labour MPs leaving the party. I don’t think Reform would get as many seats next time unless they mature at lot as a party. I think it is much more likely the Tories would regain a large number of their seats and Reform will sink to nothing in many of them.
