Venice Expelled from KLPA (Ladies Pond(

Venice has been expelled from the Ladies Pond. It means nothing really as they are just a stakeholder group, but it makes them look terrible like little authoritarian ignoramuses.

Here's Venice's tweet with their silly email. x.com/roseveniceallan/status/1795437142757532118?s=46

She'll still be able to swim, she just won't be allowed to attend the utterly pointless but entertaining AGM.

It's interesting because they sent an email round a few weeks ago asking members to agree to the constitution and if anyone failed to agree then they would be expected to leave the KLPA.

The current constitution is here, and they keep trying to add in bits about twaw but it can't get voted through. Anyway, the current KLPA Committee is a cock fan club, and they believe women and girls also refers to men in the context of the constitution.

It's weird because coincidentally there have been far more reports of pervy men hanging out at the pond recently, than before.

Discrimination on the grounds of belief IMO

MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 17:28

@Karensalright yes, and if it was the pond, run by City of London I can see how this has legs, but if KLPA is just a little optional stakeholder group who do hat sales and coffee mornings, do the same rules apply?

OP posts:
MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 17:30

And I could set up a stakeholder group called 'cock free ponders' which stipulated TWAM and that should be fine, no?

OP posts:
Ramblingnamechanger · 28/05/2024 18:48

I wonder how mass emails to that address might impact the committee.

Cazpar · 28/05/2024 18:51

Come on, this is not surprising given her actions at the recent AGM, disrupting the meeting and essentially accusing all of them of sexual assault.

As for the poster above who thinks the right thing to do is brigade the email address, since when did we start acting like TRAs?

Karensalright · 28/05/2024 18:52

@MidnightPondSwimmer Yes it would because they had the power to ban her.

MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 19:22

I think it would be pointless tbh because they already think GC people are awful and they don't listen.

Who actually owns this facility, if it is the LA then the equalities duty applies

MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 19:35

LA owns the pond. Venice isn't excluded from swimming in the pond. She is excluded from KLPA which is just a stakeholder group who do not have the power to exclude her from the pond. In fact this was their point when women were organising to get them to exclude men from the pond; KLPA has no power to exclude anyone because it is LA (CoL) who makes the rules.

OP posts:
MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 19:36

@Karensalright KLPA can only ban her from KLPA but not from the actual pond.

I'm a member of KLPA,

Have a Biscuit

MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 19:52

@Watfrordmummy lucky you. What do you mean?

OP posts:
DrSpartacular · 28/05/2024 20:12

I hope she takes legal action.

Equality Act will apply, surely.

Karensalright · 28/05/2024 20:16

If i were her i would complain to the LA not about exclusion but about sex discrimination, under the Equalities Act, misunderstanding about the exclusions permissible, as described by the Equalities commission.

MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 20:26

@DrSpartacular don't know. Surely it's legal to have a shared interest stakeholder group. I'm in a couple of terf groupsband obvs a tra would be ejected. I wonder if that's how KLPA see themselves.
OTOH KLPA existed prior to it being corrupted with trans ideology and every time they to get a twaw vote through, it fails. I would guess that apx 30% of membership is politically active terf and another sizeable chunk who definitely don't think twaw but don't like the politics and the way the terf lot handled the AGM etc.

What equality act legislation has been broken?

KLPA have always acted as inclusive and within the law.

MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 20:28

@Karensalright there is currently no legal precedent and City of London are fully corrupted as far as trans ideology is concerned, so a complaint would do nothing,

An actual court case would be fun and probably successful though.

OP posts:
MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 20:31

@Watfrordmummy the pond allowing men in does indicate a misunderstanding of the Equality act which does allow women access to single sex spaces.

OP posts:
MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 20:32

@Watfrordmummy lol and lol at 'inclusive within the law'. Yep, so inclusive you support the erosion of women's hard won sex based rights. I think it's called dick pandering.

OP posts:
PencilsInSpace · 28/05/2024 20:40

If they have at least 25 members then they come under the Equality Act as an association.

MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 20:42

@PencilsInSpace ah, interesting.

Thanks.

Seems like a case of " I can still swim there, but I'm sulking over the fact that they won't let me take the piss out of them or stand on a chair and shout?"

Edited to say this says it all
won't be allowed to attend the utterly pointless but entertaining AGM
Sounds like will be there in totally good faith.
