Venice has been expelled from the Ladies Pond. It means nothing really as they are just a stakeholder group, but it makes them look terrible like little authoritarian ignoramuses.

It's interesting because they sent an email round a few weeks ago asking members to agree to the constitution and if anyone failed to agree then they would be expected to leave the KLPA.

I think we've been misusing the word Troon. It's quite a useful word actually.

Cisgender and its prefix cis are indeed listed in dictionaries with given definitions, and are not described as derogatory.

From the dictionaries I've just checked (dictionary.com, Collins and Merriam-Web) there are no definitions for "troon" in this context. So it's not "in the dictionary".

It is listed on urban-dictionary if that counts and Wiktionary as:
"noun: (Internet slang, derogatory, offensive) A transgender person."

Summary:
Cisgender: A valid word found in all major dictionaries, none of them describe it as offensive.

Troon: A slang offensive derogatory term. Not found in major dictionaries, just informal internet slang websites.

But people wrongly calling you a bigot, is not a reason to be transphobic.

I find the word cisgender extremely offensive. I've never heard it used in a normal conversation so I don't think normal people use it.

I'm guessing you're a bloke @Christinappl, sorry if you're not. Trans rights activists have been extraordinarily successful at getting policies, language etc etc changes behind the scenes, so the default position has become that we let men in women's spaces and that there's such a word as 'cisgender', but no more Dearie. The work has turned and we're not bloody having it. Absolutely not to 'cis', ever, and absolutely not to pretending men are women, ever.

It could be offensive (though might not be) but that's not the same as being discriminatory.
