Venice Expelled from KLPA (Ladies Pond(

Venice has been expelled from the Ladies Pond. It means nothing really as they are just a stakeholder group, but it makes them look terrible like little authoritarian ignoramuses.

Here's Venice's tweet with their silly email. x.com/roseveniceallan/status/1795437142757532118?s=46

She'll still be able to swim, she just won't be allowed to attend the utterly pointless but entertaining AGM.

It's interesting because they sent an email round a few weeks ago asking members to agree to the constitution and if anyone failed to agree then they would be expected to leave the KLPA.

What equality act legislation has been broken?

KLPA have always acted as inclusive and within the law.

Why were the objections to the consultation completely ignored back in what was it, 2019 ish?

Was that a City of London decision or your KLPA decision?

Did KPLA get sight of all the objections that were never published?

MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 21:06

@GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight I don't think anyone's sulking.

The new KLPA committee have made themselves look especially stupid and authoritarian by attempting to expel women with the 'wrong'views. Their grasp of the Equality act and basic biology is woeful.

They also make themselves appear highly sensitive and fragile if they are chucking Venice out for standing on a chair and pointing out their misogynistic nonsense.

They're a pathetic gang of bullies. Dennis Noel Kavanagh says, confirming what many think, that this is unlawful discrimination.

AlisonDonut · 28/05/2024 21:13

Of all the people to kick out, Venice 'more balls than Millwall' Allen.

Indeed.

Erm, have you missed the Maya Forstater case?

And all the many others thereafter! (Yes I know Forstater was precedent)

She didn't just "stand on a chair and point out nonsense".

She stood on a chair, screamed at the assembly that they voted for rape, went on about mens erections, called trans women "perverts", and said she was never coming back. She was disruptive to the point the meeting was shut down.

If the above isn't enough to get someone kicked out of a club I don't know what is frankly. It doesn't matter how much you agree with her, this is a fairly predictable and normal consequence of that kind of behaviour.

Ramblingnamechanger · 28/05/2024 22:57

I don’t think writing an email, even if the address is currently active, which it isn’t is the equivalent of TRA behaviour,
at least the group couldn’t claim that no one cares whether men are accessing female facilities..oh wait..what was that about consultations going in the bin?

MidnightPondSwimmer · 28/05/2024 23:07

@Cazpar I'm not sure this is wholly fair. She definitely didn't scream.

I didn't hear everything she said, but she's absolutely right that any man who chooses to transgress women's boundaries by entering the changing rooms, showers and the pond, in spite of the fact that some women make it VERY CLEAR that they do not want to share these spaces with men, are more than likely perverts.

I can see your point that Venice was disruptive and I suppose that as a consequence the committee see fit to expel her from the association, and I suppose that's a fairly standard response.

However, the counter argument would run that she was forced to stand on a chair to make her point because the ludicrous women on the committee won't listen are embarrassingly misguided and are going along with an extremely dangerous policy which allows men to freely enter spaces where women are extremely vulnerable, often naked, often alone. It is a disaster waiting to happen. Venice Allan standing on a chair to shout (NOT SCREAM) about it was very much appreciated, and will go down in history as yet another moment where women tired so hard to be heard.

The committee fall in to three categories; 1) those that truly believe the gender crap because they are daft woke children who have been miseducated. 2) virtue signalling middle aged women who believe it because they are achingly left wing and want to be kind but refuse to actually critically learn about the facts of the argument and 3) those who feel the gender crap is wrong and dangerous but they have their fingers in their ears and their hands over their mouths because they don't want to be alienated from their friends and they don't want to be associated with the terfs. It's inexcusable.

A couple of weeks ago a bloke was seen taking photographs in the meadow. The lifeguards had a word with him and he said he was photographing the fox. Yeah, right.
A couple of months ago a bloke was preening and posing next to the pond in his swimming costume.
These things happen all the time. Women are staying silent to be kind and it's very unsafe, and also gross. It's unacceptable that KLPA will not stand with women against this crazy CoL policy,

Of course it is. And, by the nature of men who transgress women's boundaries, despite those women objecting every way they can, it will eventually become blindingly evident even to those who stick their fingers in their ears.

I wonder how mass emails to that address might impact the committee.

What do you mean by mass emails to them?

A campaign to flood them with transphobic emails isn't going to make them change their stance on anything and will likely just make them double-down on their support for trans people. It may also potentially be illegal to incite many people to harass an org.

zen1 · 29/05/2024 01:17

It is not transphobic for women to express their concerns about sharing a designated female space with male-bodied people. If a lot of women are worried about the impact of sharing the female pond with those who are not the same sex, why shouldn’t they put their thoughts in writing?

SinnerBoy · 29/05/2024 06:21

How dare she have had enough! At being ignored and told to shut up, so much so that she felt that she had to stand on a chair and voice her concerns louder than the other shouting.

A disgrace, amarite?

Because this isn't about women's rights. It's about hate, she's transphobic which is clearly shown by her using very hateful slurs on social media as mentioned.

"stand on a chair and voice her concerns louder than the other shouting."

I saw the video, noone other than her was shouting. She had the same opportunity as everyone else to vote and have her say, she was just shouting because she disliked the fact her viewpoint wasn't shared.

The decision (made by other women) to kick her out was unanimous. In the real world outside communities like here and twitter, people generally aren't gender critical and won't stand for transphobia.

BoudiccaOfSuburbia · 29/05/2024 08:25

I had planned a visit to the Ladies Pond this summer but no way, with any risk of the voyeuristic and creepy behaviour described by some other users.

Not transphobic but I don’t want to be in a secluded women’s space with male bodied people.

She was the only one shouting from what I saw. . Nobody else was saying anything so bit of a misleading post there.

MidnightPondSwimmer · 29/05/2024 09:24

@Christinapple
Is it hateful to not want men in women's spaces, even if they say they are women?
Is it hateful to NEVER EVER see a man as being a woman regardless of the lengths he has gone to; surgeries, make-up, clothes?

OP posts:
MidnightPondSwimmer · 29/05/2024 09:29

@GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight
They wouldn't let her speak.

It was actually a moment which has been noted and will be remembered.

The decision made by the committee was unanimous, but the committee was newly voted in at that meeting and consisted of twelve women who all purported to believe in trans ideology. The gender critical member was voted out, and none of the new gender critical candidates were voted in. KLPA has made itself a silo.

OP posts:
MidnightPondSwimmer · 29/05/2024 09:30

The committee of weak and/or corrupted women is not representative of the KLPA membership as a whole, far less regular pond swimmers who are npt members of KLPA

@Christinapple you're completely wrong that people in the real world don't care about these issues. Have a look:
