Venice Expelled from KLPA (Ladies Pond(

Venice has been expelled from the Ladies Pond. It means nothing really as they are just a stakeholder group, but it makes them look terrible like little authoritarian ignoramuses.

Here's Venice's tweet with their silly email. x.com/roseveniceallan/status/1795437142757532118?s=46

She'll still be able to swim, she just won't be allowed to attend the utterly pointless but entertaining AGM.

It's interesting because they sent an email round a few weeks ago asking members to agree to the constitution and if anyone failed to agree then they would be expected to leave the KLPA.

Wow.

Because this isn't about women's rights. It's about hate, she's transphobic which is clearly shown by her using very hateful slurs on social media as mentioned.

"stand on a chair and voice her concerns louder than the other shouting."

I saw the video, noone other than her was shouting. She had the same opportunity as everyone else to vote and have her say, she was just shouting because she disliked the fact her viewpoint wasn't shared.

The decision (made by other women) to kick her out was unanimous. In the real world outside communities like here and twitter, people generally aren't gender critical and won't stand for transphobia.

"The decision (made by other women) to kick her out was unanimous. In the real world outside communities like here and twitter, people generally aren't gender critical and won't stand for transphobia."

And yet...

but the committee was newly voted in at that meeting and consisted of twelve women who all purported to believe in trans ideology

The committee of weak and/or corrupted women is not representative of the KLPA membership as a whole, far less regular pond swimmers who are npt members of KLPA

You can't seriously believe that most women using a women only pool suddenly don't care if it's women only.

VinnieVanDog · 29/05/2024 10:06

Sounds so ridiculous when people say it's 'transphobic' to want female-only spaces.

Helleofabore · 29/05/2024 10:08

"In the real world outside communities like here and twitter, people generally aren't gender critical and won't stand for transphobia."

You must live in a bubble of people who are either not discussing it with you or who believe in that particular philosophical belief to make this statement.

Because this statement falls apart whenever a new poll is done. They may not label themselves as 'gender critical', (I don't use that label and I know many feminists who reject it), but when directly asked the question 'do you agree with male people with a penis accessing female toilets, the answer is a clear 'no''. It is also strong with 'do you agree with male people with trans identities competing as a female athlete in sports'.

So, however you like to try to state 'people generally aren't gender critical', the fact remains that in the UK the majority of the population do not fully support male people accessing female single sex spaces or sports. It is rather the opposite to what you have tried to claim.

Weak, corrupted women?!
Wow.

Yes, from my earlier post:
'The committee fall in to three categories; 1) those that truly believe the gender crap because they are daft woke children who have been miseducated. 2) virtue signalling middle aged women who believe it because they are achingly left wing and want to be kind but refuse to actually critically learn about the facts of the argument and 3) those who feel the gender crap is wrong and dangerous but they have their fingers in their ears and their hands over their mouths because they don't want to be alienated from their friends and they don't want to be associated with the terfs. It's inexcusable.'

Prove me wrong.

🙄 Biscuit

You've clearly made your mind up, so no point engaging with someone who thinks women who don't agree with you are weak, misguided daft woke children.
They have a mind of their own.
Stick to your echo chamber, you clearly sound more comfortable in it.

MidnightPondSwimmer · 29/05/2024 11:51

@GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight
The thing is, yes, I do think that, but the reason is that these women refuse to argue their case. They just enforce a policy and won't allow discussion of it.

What's the biscuit thing?

Peskysquirrel · 29/05/2024 11:53

What's the biscuit thing?

It's a tedious symbol used by posters who don't have an argument and won't engage properly

MidnightPondSwimmer · 29/05/2024 12:01

@Peskysquirrel thanks. Is it "shut up and have a biscuit"?

OP posts:
Peskysquirrel · 29/05/2024 12:03

Something like that I guess. An oh-so-hilarious way of shutting people down

MidnightPondSwimmer · 29/05/2024 12:05

It's not very good is it? 😆

Add it to the bingo card

Incidentally, it's National Biscuit Day today.

Now that is hilarious! 😂

What a coincidence!

Waitwhat23 · 29/05/2024 12:45

The biscuit thing is on the same lines as giving a biscuit or snack to a small child who (because they are hangry) is having a face down screaming tantrum. It's patronising.

It's also a deletable offense as I've seen posts with biscuits being deleted before. Not something I would report myself as it just seems petty but I have seen it happen.

RufustheFactualReindeer · 29/05/2024 12:51

Biscuit literally means ‘no comment’…or rather it did

RufustheFactualReindeer · 29/05/2024 12:52

And it shouldnt be a deletable offence as its a mumsnet approved emoji meaning ‘no comment’

Ramblingnamechanger · 29/05/2024 12:57

Christinapple · 29/05/2024 01:08

What do you mean by mass emails to them?

A campaign to flood them with transphobic emails isn't going to make them change their stance on anything and will likely just make them double-down on their support for trans people. It may also potentially be illegal to incite many people to harass an org.

I wasn’t inciting , I was wondering

Yes please,I love a good slur.

why don't you just address her points and come up with an alternative to what she's saying, in that case.

YourPinkDog · 29/05/2024 15:57

It is not okay to disrupt a meeting so badly it needs to be closed down.

Christinapple · 29/05/2024 17:40

MidnightPondSwimmer · 29/05/2024 09:29

@GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight
They wouldn't let her speak.

It was actually a moment which has been noted and will be remembered.

The decision made by the committee was unanimous, but the committee was newly voted in at that meeting and consisted of twelve women who all purported to believe in trans ideology. The gender critical member was voted out, and none of the new gender critical candidates were voted in. KLPA has made itself a silo.

They are women. Or do the views of women not count if they don't agree with the gender critical viewpoint?

"Let women speak. No not that one, no not that one either, only the women who agree with me are allowed to speak!!!"

"who all purported to believe in trans ideology"

Or maybe they just want meetings where people speak in a civil manner without standing on a chair shrieking? Maybe they also don't want members who go on social media posting hateful slurs?

Christinapple · 29/05/2024 18:03

Here's a quick selection of what she tweets and retweets on twitter. She seems to have deleted all her tweets before the start of this month for some reason, but don't worry many of her hateful tweets are on web archive as proof this is about hate and not actual "women's rights".

For anyone unaware, the word "troon" is a derogatory hateful term for trans people. It is used mainly on sites such as 4chan, kiwifarms and (since Elon Musk took over) now on twitter. It is recognised as a hateful slur by other sites such as reddit and facebook who will issue bans for using it.
