Those are certainly very tall women.

Tallisker · 05/07/2023 12:16

6'3" women are quite rare. They absolutely do exist but they are outliers. Hmmm

Soothingaftersun · 05/07/2023 12:18

This is awful, that poor kid

JulieHoney · 05/07/2023 12:19

Another “this never happens” case?

The poor young lad, he must be so traumatised.

RoseslnTheHospital · 05/07/2023 12:20

A 6ft 3in woman with bright red hair should be pretty straightforward to spot. And as a pair, the two sound extremely distinctive. Hopefully the police can find some CCTV footage of the pair in and around the area before/after the attack and provide some stills for people to jog their memories.

FlyingNorth · 05/07/2023 12:21

It certainly sounds like the assailants might have been male, but if that's the case and given they haven't been caught, who decided to call them women? How does anyone know they don't identify as men who like to dress in women's clothing? Or non-binary? And surely the relevant information here would be "two male people, dressed in xxx". Unless they are natal women, of course, which I'll take a wild guess is unlikely.

RealityFan · 05/07/2023 12:22

Well, here we have something so disturbing on an ordinary level. But after years of being browbeaten on misgendering, and men described as women on hundreds of news and crime reports, we're wondering, are the peeps actually women?

Right now, my instinct on reports of 6'3" women is to assume...men.
This is so fucked up.

pumpkinwaffle · 05/07/2023 12:23

That poor child.

If it transpires that it is actually two women who have assaulted him I'll be extremely surprised

*perps, not peeps

The force in question is Sussex Police. I leave people to come to their own conclusions.

NotTheOtherMother · 05/07/2023 12:24

It's so glaringly obvious from those descriptions combined with the type of crime. Literally every place I've seen this discussed is saying the same thing too. So people outside of mumsnet know this is going on. And they think it's bullshit too.

cheezncrackers · 05/07/2023 12:26

Jesus wept. That poor boy Sad

A 6'3" woman with bright red dyed hair? I'm willing to make a large bet right now that this is a man and his accomplice is one too. I'm so fed up with women being accused of sex offences committed by men.

Jongleterre · 05/07/2023 12:30

Remember the 'woman' who violated a dinosaur at a park?

That went hush hush very quickly after many commented that the person looked like a large bloke wearing a dress!

FlyingNorth · 05/07/2023 12:30

Well yes, the BBC's description is pretty much telling us the answer. Poor kid, any incident of this type would be traumatic, but these two sound incredibly intimidating.

LakeTiticaca · 05/07/2023 12:33

Sex offences by females are uncommon but do happen. In this case however, I'm willing to bet that these 2 weren't women!!

SlightlygrumpyBettyswaitress · 05/07/2023 12:38

Very likely to have been men. Maybe the victim described them as women?

IknowYouButIdontLikeYou · 05/07/2023 12:40

It sounds as though both perpetrators were actually men pretending to be women

PickAChew · 05/07/2023 12:40

Wow. Women seem to be getting more violent and creepy by the day 🤔How odd.

IncompleteSenten · 05/07/2023 12:40

Yeah. Women. Of course they were 🤦

Poor kid.

AmbleInAnnBoleyn · 05/07/2023 12:43

That poor boy.

I do hope they find the assailants quickly.

LonginesPrime · 05/07/2023 12:47

Surely if the perpetrators were male, it would help to actually say so in order to find them?

They're clearly dangerous criminals on the run, so why would the priority not be finding them instead of using inclusive language to describe the dangerous criminals who need to be found?

How could the police be accused of misgendering someone based on someone else's physical description of them anyway? I get they've been Stonewalled but how mad is it that the conversation must have gone "I was attacked by a man in a cropped top" "oh, you mean a woman, then". The person in question isn't even there to state their gender identity...because they're a bloody sex criminal on the run.

Obviously not many people know a 6'3" woman (and it was likely a disguise to disarm the victim by playing on the notion that it's transphobic to be scared of transwomen), so they'll never be caught at this rate.

XVII · 05/07/2023 12:51

I read that and instantly thought both perpetrators would have XY chromasomes

mrshoho · 05/07/2023 13:00

I understand this assault took place a month ago as well. Why so late in the police requesting information? These two sound very dangerous. No doubt they are the sort of women who have a penis. The poor boy.

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 05/07/2023 13:01

I feel for the poor boy - as a victim of crime he shouldn't be gaslighted that the perps were female if they are male.

Perhaps it was only reported by the victim recently, for understandable reasons.
