If anyone is a member of the Oxford Union it says her talk is at 5pm tomorrow.

Is anyone from FWR going?

Alightly derailing the thread but, my child didn’t make it into Oxbridge where they’d hoped for some serious debate and discussion but are just finishing elsewhere. There has been no debate on any topic; seminars have been for the purpose of teaching telling the students what information to include in their essays. What happened to critical
thinking and the right to disagree? We are doomed if we cannot debate.

Mind, it seems oxbridge is hot for debates, especially with the tutorials, debating sessions etc

It seems that there were students ready to debate and hear GC arguments in Oxford, which might explain the histrionics and no-debate extremism on the day of KS's talk? I wonder if it also explains the extreme position taken by Regent's Park College, to put a stop to any debate, just as people are feeling there is a slight possibility to do so.
