If anyone is a member of the Oxford Union it says her talk is at 5pm tomorrow.

Is anyone from FWR going?

WTF is an ‘Oxford’? I’m presuming you don’t mean a lace up shoe?

Surly Sherlock, you would know what I meant.

PonyPatter44 · 31/05/2023 23:02

Is the Cambridge Union open to the public, then? I thought it was a private members' club, like the Oxford Union.

You do know that this term refers to taking space from those seated next to you, ie on public transport?

Why would that be relevant to a single seat armchair, regardless of the sex of the occupant?

i assume Marbs thought manspreading just meant having your legs sprawled open like a big ol' manly man instead of tucked together demurely like a sweet little lady.

Poor TRAs, so locked into gender stereotypes they don't even see it.

Datun · 31/05/2023 23:20

At the Cambridge Union in November, supporting the motion “This House Believes in the Right to Offend”, Stock was horrified when the undergraduate supposedly on her side, whom she’d just dined with, instead stood to denounce her. (This strapping 6ft 2in male, now non-binary, claims to feel unsafe on the streets because of views like Stock’s.)

I didn't know she dined with the disloyal dingbat, prior to that disgusting display of male dominance.

Imagine the betrayal having just shared a meal with them.

Surely, even their allies would look sidelong at someone so mendacious. You wouldn't be able to trust them an inch.

What a claim to fame.

Thanks for the link to Janice Turner's article. I'm glad she had support with her.

THERES NO SHAME IN BROOM CUPBOARDS

Tallisker · 31/05/2023 23:22

How posh is that there Oxford - they have windows in their broom cupboards Grin

Shades of Boris Becker?

is that really the best you've got?

Well I could mention there was a woman protesting with her hands glued to the floor right in front of Stock lol

IwantToRetire · 01/06/2023 00:08

The most thoughtful is from a young woman I’m later told is a lesbian who, having written a student newspaper article defending Stock’s right to speak, has been banned from Oxford LGBTQ+ meetings.

Its a great shame that those newspapers and journalists who are willing to write about gender critical views dont do more to protect the unknown women who are being cancelled and intimidated.

Without disrespecting Kathleen Stock who has experienced that, now she is more of a public figure she is less likely to be ignored.

This young woman will probably never be able to enjoy her time at Oxford after this.

Just shocking, and when the TRAs try to say that GC views are like Section 28 and yet they are the ones who are silencing and intimidating gay men and lesbians.

Are you sure it was a woman? How can you tell?

RealityFan · 01/06/2023 00:15

It really says something that if I had my time again and was clever enough to go to Oxford or Cambridge, or any number of other so-called elite institutions, I'd pass, and find a vocation where I could be true to myself.

Kudos to this student, I hope they find a good future after graduating. Because it certainly isn't the real world in these places.

What? In her own chair? You really have no idea on anything, do you?

You grab whatever you think will be a clever gotcha from twitter and race over to fling it onto a thread. By now it really must be for the humiliation. You simply can not post with a positive intention to engage or contribute.

This. It’s this.

It’s always been this.

Pray tell, when Cambridge allow the public to their speaking events, how is it "nonsensical"

Because wtf is an ‘Oxford’?

forgotmyusername1 · 01/06/2023 08:06

Shame once the individual got their pritstick out they didn't go - shall we all go to the library and carry on the debate. Last one out turn the light off leaving said individual sitting alone in the dark

Oh dear! After your thread on misgendering and all that!

I guess this unravels things a bit more for readers. Never a feminist, but also not a true trans activist either. Just here to shame women who disagree with you.

NicCageisnotNickCave · 01/06/2023 08:20

I feel a bit sad for Riz, it’s no fun having an important and successful daddy who only notices you when you get in the papers for acting like a prize nob.

Beowulfa · 01/06/2023 08:38

It's fascinating how a confident butch lesbian genuinely unsettles some people.

I suppose if your brain has to process the input of "woman in man-gender attire, but who doesn't insist on being called a man", then it might have to compute that a bloke in a dress might just be a bloke in a dress, which I imagine causes much synaptic grinding and mental grunting amongst genderists.

Also, the fact that they genuinely don't give a fuck what people think of their appearance in a world in which your image is your identity label and how others are supposed to validate you, must be quite enraging.

IcakethereforeIam · 01/06/2023 09:48

Apologies for the incipient misgendering but, henceforth, Riz will be known to me as 'The Head girl'.
