Just to add this minister is a gay man but as the comments show he has totally ostracised the gay community who are quite rightly very angry..
Some of the comments are hilarious but none support his trans agenda. Delighted!

@Lottapianos his proof yesterday proves how out of touch he is with not only women but also the gay community (which is shocking as he's a gay man)
But he represented Ireland at the Commission of the status of women three weeks ago.

If he had confined himself to expressing solidarity with trans people his tweet would have been unremarkable.

He is the current Minister for Abstract Nouns so I suppose he may be expected to do so.

But no....he had to have a cheap dig at women and men , gay , straight and bi , who have valid concerns about gender ideology.

I didn't keep up with the news yesterday, but I saw reference to Sharon Keoghan asking him about his redirection of over €1m from Mother & Baby restitution funds, and Traveller funds to give to T organisations. And then he played the gay card to deflect. Is this what happened or just the Twitter version, does anyone know?

I'm from Ireland and I don't recognise the picture the OP paints at all. The dog whistles the minister refers to are very clear. It's far-right Catholic and Protestant evangelists who are using the trans issue to gain support for their wider agenda opposing the secularisation of schools and the liberalisation of abortion. And some useful idiot politicians think they will score points by pushing cultural war issues

If the OP wants to champion that on a feminist forum maybe this forum should be renamed the anti trans agenda because it's not feminism.
