Just to add this minister is a gay man but as the comments show he has totally ostracised the gay community who are quite rightly very angry..
Some of the comments are hilarious but none support his trans agenda. Delighted!

If you listen carefully you can almost hear the tide turning.

The tide has already turned, but it’s Morecambe Bay tide, out for miles, and it’s still going to be a bit longer before the waves are crashing on the storm wall.

But it’s getting there!

Many of us here are from Ireland. We will post where we want.

I'm from Ireland and I don't recognise the picture the OP paints at all. The dog whistles the minister refers to are very clear. It's far-right Catholic and Protestant evangelists who are using the trans issue to gain support for their wider agenda opposing the secularisation of schools and the liberalisation of abortion. And some useful idiot politicians think they will score points by pushing cultural war issues

If the OP wants to champion that on a feminist forum maybe this forum should be renamed the anti trans agenda because it's not feminism.

@RubyRoss love your username 😁 Ross darling, a man cannot be a woman. Go back to school & study your biology ya big boyo!

I love that twitter thread - the ratio! Several special mentions of the Limerick prison women and the people born in the homes.

The Irish should be very proud of the Irish Catholic Monks who educated Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire, they were their ancestors.

What's with the erasing history?

People risked their lives with hedge schools and will again if necessary.

A load of Peado influtatrors abused Alter boys, they destroyed the faith for many.

Some Irish people would rather embrace Foucault instead of Jesus, that's their right. Leo rejected the local Christian brothers and went instead to Palmerstown, others can do the same.

Many want to keep the religion Jesus organised, they want to sent their children to the local Catholic school and continue with the faith. You can'make e everyone change or reject their religion because you don't like it.

@DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry it was hilarious. I can't believe he said there's no lgb without t.. As a member of the gay community he is very out of touch with them & their viewpoints as the comments stated 😁 Good on them the lgb community fought so hard for their rights.

He was only too delighted to be meeting Peter Tatchell, member of PIE and advocate of adult and child sex.

Imagine being LGB and him speaking for you?

There is a horrible history of the Mother and baby slave trade and he redirected that money is that right?

What about the Alter Boys money, what happened to that, was that redirected also?

Leopardprintonsie · 01/04/2023 12:29

@Steradent shocking that he's lgb himself. He hasn't a clue about his own community. The comments under his tweet speak for themselves.

We all know tatchell has some dubious notions about kiddy love, but was he ever an actual member of PIE?

Leopardprintonsie · 01/04/2023 12:34

Panti Piss tweeting & retweeting about mumsnet transphobes right now!
Sounds like some men have got their knickers in a twist!

SoftDay · 01/04/2023 12:35

My post is riddled with errors! Minister for Abstract Nouns - sorry, Abhann. Still chuckling about that!
And Senator Keogan, not Keoghan.
Any criticism of trans activism will be dismissed as homophobia. The TQ is probably unbreakably welded to the LGB in Ireland. I am surrounded by gender zealots in work who were thrilled with Rod's dismissal of Keogan. The imposed consensus is chilling.

RocketPanda · 01/04/2023 12:38

@dropthevipers I do seem to remember some sort of "I joined PIE by accident" thing about PT. Could be someone else now come to think of it. I don't know how one joins by accident.

Logic and meaning are not strong point of yours obviously. Guess what I learned in school? Ross is a really common Anglicised place name for things relating to woods and Scotland. Someone from Ireland and in touch with Irish culture might actually know that

Leopardprintonsie · 01/04/2023 12:42

Your name as Gaeilge would be Rossa 👍

You can believe whatever religion you want, but that organisation you're so keen on defending locked women up and stole their babies.

As a feminist I'd call that anti-women and anyone who tries to defend it and roll back abortion rights is also anti women.

And off you go. The post is in a feminist forum (supposedly) and I've pointed out why it's a long long way from feminist. Ta ra now.

Leopardprintonsie · 01/04/2023 12:43

Again you are struggling with logical inference. I haven't made any statement about biology at all. I'm merely pointing out the massive contradiction of supporting anti-feminist views on an feminist forum. If you want to oppose trans identity off you go and make your argument but don't pretend that right-wing evangelicals who oppose women's rights are a friend of women on a women's forum.

Steradent · 01/04/2023 12:50

That's your opinion

Scammers influtrate every group, as we know any sacred caste - be they a Teacher Peadophile, or enabler with their strange modern Sex education lessons, be they represeting the Green party or other groups, they get in everywhere.

There were many Catholic countries that didn't join in enslaving women and selling their babies - until the washing machine was available, the Irish nation was the only one.

People are allowed their own beliefs and religion and talking about their opinion of history happens.

Feminism supports the rights of women within a patriarchy. Anyone who wants to twist it to centre men who are intent on invading women’s spaces is not a feminist, @RubyRoss
