'Stewart McDonald, Kirsten Oswald, Kaukab Stewart and Alison Thewliss were at the Glasgow protest to support the trans community and stand up for Scotland's democracy.'

That's them standing in front of a sign that says 'decapitate terfs'.

Again, I'm genuinely fucking shocked. This inflammatory, violent rhetoric is not acceptable.

The link goes to a tweet that has video of the event, which clearly shows the signs in the background.

Ffs these people are supposed to represent everyone and instead are promoting the murder of women some government we have up here in Scotland

ArabellaScott · 21/01/2023 13:29

Okay, to clarify, this isn't actually an SNP organised demo, it just seems to be a genderal protest that has attracted a lot of SNP politicians. My mistake, I misread the National headline.

It makes me very fed up when some people try to say that both sides of the issue are as bad as each other. I haven't seen any equivalent banners from the gender critical side of things.

TheGreatATuin · 21/01/2023 13:32

With this and the other thread on here where a man says he wants to drive a car into a crowd and 'explode' PP and other women, I don't understand how counter-terrorism police aren't involved, never mind ordinary police.
This isn't debate or frustration or 'protecting trans people'.
It's frequent, public and open threats of violence against women, a group with a protected characteristic.

ArabellaScott · 21/01/2023 13:33

Yes, apparently tacitly supported by various politicians. Is it clear to the general public what this movement is all about, yet?

They're saying all the quiet bits out loud aren't they? Exposing the underbelly of VAWG that's been used to enforce this movement.

applesandpears33 · 21/01/2023 13:47

The double standards annoys me. I bet no one will tell the person carrying that billboard to leave the demo, even though it is obviously offensive.

StatisticallyChallenged · 21/01/2023 13:47

Yeah, that's what the right side of history looks like, right there.

How are they this stupid

ArabellaScott · 21/01/2023 13:48

Also Green and an SNP MSP. Protest seems to be absolutely full of politicians.

This is from a couple of days ago, not the protest, but apparently also in Glasgow.

Pictures of people wielding a bat and - what is that, a taser? Weapons, at any rate.

This is a violent threat for an upcoming women's rights protest:

That sign is absolutely shocking. Grotesque. Totally unacceptable. Replace TERFs with any other “group” and the police would be all over it instantly.

I also wonder if the grinning idiot holding the sign up realises that there are parts of the world where this medieval act is still carried out as a punishment for wrongdoing?

FrancescaContini · 21/01/2023 13:54

I’m referring to the photo in the OP

ArabellaScott · 21/01/2023 14:01

I'm wondering if at some point some part of the police is going to actually see this for a terrorist movement?

OP posts:
FrancescaContini · 21/01/2023 14:08

I hope so. It’s totally beyond the pale to use this word. I imagine the vast majority of people would be shocked to see this sign.

SleekMamma · 21/01/2023 14:10

Alison Thewliss is not in that photo. I know her. However her twitter feed is ridiculous.

applesandpears33 · 21/01/2023 14:10

It is shocking and I hope some action is taken. As another poster has said above, if this had been said about any other group action something would have been done.

HermioneWeasley · 21/01/2023 14:11

they are emboldened. Why weren’t they arrested?

Rainbowshit · 21/01/2023 14:12

That is shocking.

No, she's in the footage in the original tweet, though. With said sign being held up behind her.

Do you do Prevent training?

Prevent training tells us to keep an eye out for exactly what is going on with MRAs and TRAs.

How much ranting have we heard about 'you're on the side of Posie who once looked sideways at a hamster who's aunts sister took a selfie with a bad person and so you're all associating with evil'?

I think that's permanently done, isn't it?

Because here are people in posts of official responsibility and representation of the general public of the UK, smiling under posters that say to kill women who want equality of consideration and access to men.

They are smiling under posters that say to kill women.

Wtf do you do when you've got angry MPs intimidating women MPs right in front of the speaker, and MPs joining protests and associating with open advocacy of murder of women? Where the fuck is the ombudsman for all this?
