'Stewart McDonald, Kirsten Oswald, Kaukab Stewart and Alison Thewliss were at the Glasgow protest to support the trans community and stand up for Scotland's democracy.'

That's them standing in front of a sign that says 'decapitate terfs'.

Again, I'm genuinely fucking shocked. This inflammatory, violent rhetoric is not acceptable.

“I’m due in court again soon to give evidence against a trans rights activist who threatened to kill me.”

One of the invited speakers at this event was the person who screamed 'Witch' repeatedly at women outside the Scottish parliament. I'll not name this person as they seem vulnerable.

Said person was also - very briefly - a representative of the SNP disabilities group.

Kirsten Oswald condemns sign as 'horrific'.

'That’s a horrific sign, and it wasn’t there when I joined the demo. It most certainly doesn’t represent my views, and isn’t language I would ever use. Violent hateful language, of any kind, is unacceptable and has no place in the peaceful movement for LGBT equality and democracy.'

@IwantToRetire there's only one police force now (in theory at least). Police Scotland.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/01/2023 16:51

How much ranting have we heard about 'you're on the side of Posie who once looked sideways at a hamster who's aunts sister took a selfie with a bad person and so you're all associating with evil'?

I think that's permanently done, isn't it?

The usual suspects are already doing it in the replies to tweets of this photo to deflect from the terrible optics.

ArabellaScott · 21/01/2023 16:53

Violent hateful language, of any kind, is unacceptable and has no place in the peaceful movement for LGBT equality

Kirsten, hen, have you ever actually listened to the language of this 'peaceful movement'?

Just adding to the gallery.

Apart the odious Picklebee, I can see Ross Greer (Greens) and who I suspect is Alex Cole Hamilton (Lib Dems) applauding in the front row.

I'm astounded on a daily basis at the open, appalling hatred towards women by their elected representatives.

See also the "yeah you're so riiiight" fawning over RMW's decision to go on GB News, which until that moment in time was of course VERBOTEN.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/01/2023 16:56

What will happen to them? Starmer disciplined Labour members for attending peaceful picket lines.

My guess is nothing.

Yes, and I don't think he's disciplining his MPs for standing shoulder to shoulder with convicted psycho TRA Sarah Jane Baker. I saw some glib statement that they couldn't be expected to know, even though the audio has SJB talking about being in prison for 30 years.

ArabellaScott · 21/01/2023 16:57

Kaukab Stewart also condemns the signs:

twitter.com/kaukabstewart/status/1616832504350085120

'I was not aware of these hateful signs when I attended today’s protest in defence of Scottish democracy and the rights of trans people, and I utterly disagree with them. Violent hate speech is totally unacceptable and has absolutely no place in our public discourse.'

I find the video of that person screaming witch very uncomfortable to watch. Such naked hatred.

What about the one about cannibalising women who disagree with men or vote Tory? How do you feel about that one Kirsten?

There wasn't just one, there were loads. They were everywhere.

And had you turned around and confronted the holder of that sign as you so nobly claim, would have done, what exactly do you think would have been the response you got?

"Oh I'm so sorry, I quite understand your point of view, I'll bin it immediately?"

You'd have been called a Terf, and added to the death list, love. And you know it.

nilsmousehammer · 21/01/2023 17:04

And ffs Kirsten, don't you dare say you're doing anything in my name as a homosexual. Don't you bloody use me in your homophobic, misogynistic machinations, you are supporting a movement that oppresses me and seeks to remove and subordinate my rights on two separate fronts. There is nothing peaceful or moral about that.

JellySaurus · 21/01/2023 17:07

Kaukab Stewart also condemns the signs:

'I was not aware of these hateful signs when I attended today’s protest in defence of Scottish democracy and the rights of trans people, and I utterly disagree with them. Violent hate speech is totally unacceptable and has absolutely no place in our public discourse.'

The photo looks very much like a selfie taken by KS, from the position of KS's body.

Walrussy · 21/01/2023 17:08

What strikes me is the difference between this demo and, say, the pride demo where lesbians were verbally used for holding signs saying 'Get the L out' which wasn't even a violent thing to say. There were pictures of those women being shouted down. And look at Fred Sargeant attacked for saying 'hateful' things. Then look at the reaction to these people calling for actual violence. Can't see anyone challenging it.

So it's all very well for these Scottish politicians to claim they don't share these sentiments and didn't know the signs were there, but there they were standing at a demo where these people were holding signs and don't seem to have been challenged by the rest of the community - who famously don't have a problem getting violent with people they do disagree with.

Maybe next time these women should look into what the people they are so joyfully supporting actually want.

Kirsten, hen, have you ever actually listened to the language of this 'peaceful movement'?

She must be hoping that people won't notice, nor notice that she did nothing to try to dissuade the placard brandishers. And that she's only said something condemning it because it's indefensible and she was caught out.

Well, what is that old proverb, Kirsten? Lie down with dogs, and you'll get up with fleas.

nauticant · 21/01/2023 17:13

A rather surprising take from a journalist:

twitter.com/davidmacdougall/status/1616806332052697089

which he then expands on. The past few days shows how much this toxicity really has spread among the genderists. Sane Scottish people must be utterly exasperated at this.

MargaritaPie · 21/01/2023 17:15

Was it this one?

A lot of people turned up to support trans rights. KJK will be green with envy because she can't get anywhere near those numbers of supporters.

SinnerBoy · 21/01/2023 17:16

Support Trans rights? Or to intimidate and threaten women?

Hmm, the jury's out!

WarriorN · 21/01/2023 17:16

I bc think you're projecting Marge.

KJK couldn't give two hoots.

More blokes trying to drown out her and the speakers she hosts demonstrates her points.

Boiledbeetle · 21/01/2023 17:18

Sign saying decapitate Terfs @MargaritaPie no comments you want to make?????

ResisterRex · 21/01/2023 17:19

KJK couldn't give two hoots.

Exactly this. And those turning up to drown her out will make for plenty of news stories when she runs against the professional fence-sitter that is Keir "I was DPP dontcha know" Starmer.

MargaritaPie · 21/01/2023 17:19

You try to make out only men support trans-rights. I have a feeling you know this isn't accurate.
