The cycnical part of me thinks the SNP rushed this through at the end of the year, hoping it would push the UK Government to do this.
Now they can mount a big campaign about Scottish Independence and distract from everything they aren't dong as the current Scottish government.
They tried to accuse the Tories of playing politics with trans rights, but I suspect if anyone is, they are.
I was going to add I never thought a UK government would do this, but wondeer if in fact the Tories are doing this because it will play well with older more conservative, conservatives.
So in other words dont have faith in politicians really caring about women's rights.
I think we need to watch very closely what is said.
But maybe this legal challenge will sort of the EA once and for all, because much of this is about what protection do women's rights have. None of their own inherently, even though sex is a protected characteristic, but just a few hard to argue for single sex exemptions.
