the Scottish gender reforms are bad because they entrench this into law - that you are whatever sex you say you are - yes it’s technically about making the process easier, but the effect is that the law is agreeing that you are whatever you saw you are, without any gatekeeping at all, which effectively means no one is allowed to question any man using it as a loophole.
they’re also bad because they are making law based on undefinable terms, such as living in/as a gender/woman/man. If these terms mean whatever anyone wants them to mean, they have no meaning and so can’t form the basis of a practicable law. The supposed safeguard that you’ll be prosecuted for faking it is entirely meaningless, as it can’t be proved that you’re faking it, because whatever you say becomes reality.
under the guise of being nice to terribly oppressed trans people, a narrative based on no clear evidence, its actual effect is to make it impossible to be a woman (or man) as a member of a sex class, and to make it impossible for women to call out danger and threat from males.
